This is just the beginning of a story based in an alternate Earth where anthros exist. Funny enough this was inspired by the song "Space Doggity" by Jonathan Coulton. The song is about Laika the dog who was sent up to space with no way to return alive, she died. Wikipedia will tell me more about the Sputnik program. The picture is suppose to be Laika, but that is NOT my main character depicted in the story. So this is NOT what he looks like, his description come latter. [ although if anyone wants to help me come up with description they are welcome to do so. ]

You did a pretty amazing job here. Not only because the stile is great.
I looked at the picture and my brain went "Oh, look. Its Laika. lets click it and read more in the artist comment."
This said, this picture is glorious in so many ways. I especially like how the dog itself is more sepiacoloured. Like in an old newspaper from that time, when they still used to draw a lot more than photograph.
What I too love a lot here is the sky. I love the colours of it and how perfectly they blend into each other.
