As Enemies of the Empire developed increasingly faster and more powerful ships able to out menuver Heay Battle Cruisers, the main stay of the Fantaran Imperial Fleet, while fortifying themselves with increasingly resistant defenses, it was clear to the Fantaran Imperial High command that a class of destroyers unlike any other was needed.Thus the Caprice Class Destroyer was conceived.

The Caprice brings to the table the most advance weapons systems in the galaxy. The ship is armed with the following primary weapons systems.

*96 Missile tubes able to manufacture and fire various types of missiles, from anti ship missiles to city busting Quantum Missiles on the fly with replication techniology. Each tube has a rate of fire of up to 30 missiles per minute depending on the weapons type.

* 2 Photonic rail guns that fires unique chevron shaped pulses of photons enabling the weapons to peeitrate any force feild based sheilding and armor. The rail guns have rapid fire capabilities of 20 second bursts. These guns were designed specifically to destoy enemy vessals at very long ranges.

* dozens of Class 3 Plasma guns on retractable terrets.

* Unique Space Time distortion shields, that employs the slipstream drive to stop or alter the direction of projectiles and energy based weapons away from the ship. Also the Space Time Distorsion sheilds can be used to prevent enemy ships from using any means of faster-than-light travel.

*2 Space Craft Hangers with a full squadron of fighters, recon vessals troop and weapons carriers, and unpiloted combat and spy drones.

These and many more weapons systems are brought together into the fastest starships in the galaxy. These ships use a revolutionary faster-than-light propulsion system that enables the Caprice Class to enter warp drive and more importantly a trans-warp means of travel known as Slip Stream. When traveling in Slipstream the Caprice is able to cross from one side of the galaxy to the other in one month vs. several years under maximum warp.

In addition to breathtaking speed, traveling in Slipstream leaves no warp signature rendering the Capices extremely difficult to detect. Combined this with its Space TIme distortion sheilds that can bend the fabric of space and time in such a way that any physical objects and energies pass around the ship, the Caprices are nearly impossible to be detected by any thing short of the most highly sophisticated stationary based astrometric grade sensors.

The Caprices also contains astrometic grade sensors making this class of warship the first ever to boast such powerful sensors on a mobile platform. These sensors are tied directly to the weapons systems enchancing accuracy to levels unheard of before.

Another capablility of this ship is when escorting a Marquis Class Heavy Battle Cruiser, the Caprice can slave the over whelming firepower of one or more Marquis to its sensors and targeting systems bringing the awsome weapons of the Heavy Battle Cruiser to the same level of precision as the Caprices own weapons. Also this slaving techology can also be used to bring the sensors of a whole fleet of Caprices together creating a sensor network to coordenate and comand operations and guide warships to their targets quickly, precisely, and effencently.

These are just some of the capabilities of the Caprice class destroyer. With such advance technologies the Caprice is fast becoming a ship to be feared by even the toughest of enemies.
