Alright, Imma keep it completely honest with ya lads. I usually don't upload things "Later" and just kind of push everything out all at once. Then come back the next day to my social media. However, this piece I guess is a lot more special to me than most. For it actually details of when I made this setting over 12-15 years ago. When the Faceless were known as "Shadows" and Thomza wore a bandanna and was nothing more than a stick figure.
The original idea behind Skin to Scales, before it had a name, was just me drawing tons of stick figures fighting back monsters on pieces of paper like an RTS game. That I would draw out big scary creatures and invent new ones as they had to push back the monsters off the page. Sometimes the "Shadows" would win, but Thomza would be the one to connect all of these universes together. That he was a "Shadowless" and had to stop his big, scary, evil brother from destroying and eating universes with his armies. That of course translating back to Skin to Scales, what the setting is to this day even if it focuses mostly on just one universe and realm. The one that Thomza had created and not much else outside of it.
However, it is canon that Thomza thanks to his Maskless nature and God-like status that he travels outside of it constantly. To hunt down and even fight back against faceless forces all the while keeping his own realm and many others safe. The doodles above the door is that of the original super old drawings I did when I was just a child. What Thomza used to look like and some of the monsters I drew, as well as some of the allied forces that helped Thomza known back then simply as "Troopers." (Which are now canonically called the Forbidden Troopers.) Everything really goes back to when I first started artwork, and I can't believe I'm still using all this stuff that I once did as a mere kid playing around with his notebook. That I "didn't have to be worried about scary monsters because Thomza would show up."
The name Thomza was still used all the way back then. It was an entirely unique name I got from mixing some stuff together of a few of my favorite characters back then. This piece impressively, means a lot to me and I can't believe how emotional I got when drawing it. Maybe it's just the idea of that childhood nostalgia, seeing how far I come as both a writer and an artist, and how much more is still ahead of me. With Thomza having multiple bodies it's of course how he stays with his Tiamat of a wife at all times and can still be fighting bad guys across the universe like some sort of cosmic superhero and mythological legend. I created an extremely grim setting, but as I said, I wanted it to be incredibly hopeful despite the faceless and their existence and them wiping out entire realms in the blink of an eye. Sometimes Thomza doesn't show up similar to Huntley's own realm because he was just too late. Even a being like himself being ever so limited to save everyone...
That's enough out of me of course. The item he is holding is known as the "Key of the Paradox" allowing Thomza to warp out of his multiverse he created and into the deep unknown. Sometimes one of his bodies finds a universe that don't follow any of the rules we may know of or that are cemented. Or maybe he might fling himself into the portal to find realms already that lost to faceless forces... Or maybe some that are just being created, ones without gods, ones without any sort of strife, and making him a multi-versal traveler. Usually though he just leaves when finding a realm that is without threat of this invasive alien race. It's a massive roulette spin where he ends up... and once he finds out there is no threat? He leaves. Just like that, visiting countless realms without anyone even knowing he was there.
If you read all of this? Thank you. That actually means the world to me despite how long winded this one is. This will also be setting up for brand new arcs I will be working on, and ideas where Thomza enters entirely new realms with their own rulesets and things he must follow. Some of it being Faceless and Skin to Scales related... Some of it not and way more casual. This is the start of something big, and I can't wait to share it all with you.
Disclaimer and Copyright: These characters involved, and the artwork belongs to me, TwistedHensley. The Skin to Scales universe also belongs to me there, TwistedHensley... You get the drill. I want to point out that this is an Epic Dark Fantasy setting with a lot of mythological and religious tones and that there is no real-life connection to any of these events, religions, characters and it is fully, grounded, in fantasy. This is the same setting where faith is a massive part of the magic system. There are also many satirical tones as well...

Thank ya! It was really fun to draw and I haven't been this proud of an art piece in a while.
Also yeah, the lock was definitely really messed up looking. Only one key can open the portal, it would be an awful shame if someone stumbled upon the door and stepped through as there would be no going back.
