One of the few truly happy moments from Zarhoo's past in her homeworld.
Here you can see, how she prepares for the holiday by applying color patterns to her mask using stencils, while her little brother Nefu watches the process.
Masks are of great, even sacred significance for most of a Nhibi nations (Nhibi is a race to which Zarhoo belongs). Each Nhibi has his/her own mask, and beliefs say that a spirit lives in each mask, helping its owner in difficult moments of life. Therefore, Nhibi wear masks, when they go to fight or hunt. However, the holidays also do not take place without masks. Spirits like not only to get involved in danger, but also to have fun! x)
It's the duty of each Nhibi to take care of their masks, repair and repaint it as needed, and decorate it before the holidays. Dirt and faded paint are signs of disrespect for the spirits, and the offended spirit can always leave the owner of the mask.
