Arby and Elby are pair of twin brothers born in one body. Abandoned in an airport by their parents immediately after their birth, they were adopted by a Japanese woman named Naomi, who brought them to Japan and raised them in her hometown in the Tohoku region. The twins survived infancy as they were treated by Naomi more like her sons, and grew up in Tohoku, where they were bullied as toddlers in a kindergarten.
Despite other children calling them freaks, the twins met a girl named Chiharu. She was very kind to them and liked to stick with them as long as she could, because they're so unique from the rest.
At the age of 9, Arby and Elby attended an elementary school until the day an earthquake and tsunami disaster struck Tohoku, destroyed more than 100,000 buildings, triggering a nuclear disaster, and killed at least 15,899 people with a tsunami, including their adoptive mother Naomi and poor little Chiharu.
The twins luckily managed to survive without any sign of injury, though the disaster rendered them homeless, like at least 450,000 other people. They were devastated, overwhelmed by tragedy and deeply depressed, but, as conjoined twins, still have each other together in one body, despite mourning the deaths of their adoptive mother and their close friend.
The twins left the ruined Tohoku region while coping with the loss of their loved ones, but they were too young to survive on their own. They were given some food and shelter to survive and thrive while exploring Japan, even when hearing that their biological parents were still alive somewhere in the USA. Although saddened by their past, they taught each other to learn how to speak English after months of practicing, even when travelling together as one and providing some food and shelter to survive. They soon went train-hopping on their way to Tokyo, only to end up loving each other rather than attempting to go separate ways.
The twins eventually found a way to fly from Tokyo to the USA and managed to find their birthplace. They turned 15 when entering a public college, where they studied in classes, made some friends and learned something new, even while flirting with each other in a peaceful manner. They graduated after turning 18 and got an apartment to live in.
Despite lamenting the deaths of Naomi and Chiharu, the twins are each other's Boyfriend, together forever in one body and never about to lose each other.
