Though all pass through the gateway - into something new, something more, there are a chosen few who remain behind. Who stand witness. Who are bound from the Gates and denied any such respite or renewal.

Kayin, trapped, bound and chained to the Gates from which he can never escape. In the myth of Pandora's box, Hope stayed within, trapped.
