The Journey Is The Point
Fox hadn't finished this yet and I wanted her to put a star on there somewhere because they're my symbol. Sorry about the reupload!
At Megaplex last year I choked. I had a bad PTSD moment and couldn't go do my job, and when it happened someone stepped up and handled things for me. Someone carried me until I could walk again. Someone let me lean on them until I could walk on my own once more. I am blessed and grateful to have
foxenawolf as a friend and she did this for me at my request.
I don't quote or copy media a lot because I figure I'm a clever person, I can make up my own cool scenes. But I happened across a clip from Sing 2 where Clay Calloway chokes and can't bring himself to step out onto the stage. I knew that feeling intimately and the scene resonated with me a great deal. Clay found his strength to go on, and I did too.
The song that was sung in the scene is U2's "Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" which is supposed to be about how the journey is as important as the destination. Always strive to learn, improve, and better yourself. A good friend pointed out that we're all broken, but hopefully we're all trying to get better every day. But it's not about reaching a mythical place called 'better' it's about getting there every day, a little more by a little more.
I believe in the kingdom come
Then all the colors will bleed into one
Bleed into one
But yes I'm still running
You broke the bonds
And you loosed the chains
Carried the cross
Of my shame
Oh my shame
You know I believe it
But I still haven't found what I'm looking for
Thank you.

I'm glad you made it through with help from your friend. I hope you can do something that powerful and important for foxenawolf someday.
Boy, do I know how that can be. I've had PTSD for over 35 years and 6 years ago I lost the best job I ever loved. My girlfriend helped me through it -- I shouldn't even refer to her that way, because we weren't a couple, yet -- but I survived the depression and moved on. Today she has become a psychologist and is helping many other people deal with much worse things. Even the hospital she works for has recognized how important she is and is helping her get her PhD.

Part of being a musician, I’ve chocked a few times behind my drums…
Nothing more frightening like hearing silence and knowing you have eye balls looking at you, waiting, watching.
When ever I do chocked…I close my eyes and count the timing with my bass drum, then as everyone beings clapping in timing, I feel more relaxed and energetic.
Even though I’ve been playing music for 20 years
