Phenomenal work. The duality of emotion between the call and your lead here are stellar.
Color is a bitch to put lightly XD
For what you settled on, nothing becomes illegible despite all the heavy brush work going on through the piece. If you made the lead any darker in hue they may have gotten lost in the background or if you used a punch-ier, warmer color for the background it may have detracted from the lead's presence here. Not an easy thing to settle on by any means.
Think it looks great. Keep experimenting in your future projects is all I can say to help out.
