''Lost Paradise'' by Lay
Here's another picture I drew at my coach Daniël's office, and it involves a forgotten tropical wonderworld.
🌴 What you're looking at here, is an abandoned summer paradise nestled in the mountains near a warm coast. There's a swimming pool, an old water slide tower, a hill with some ruins on top of it, and many palm trees. However the place is lost to time, vegetation started growing everywhere. There's a volleyball court in the center, but its net is damaged and covered in dirt. Furthemore, animals made this paradise their home, including bugs, salamanders, birds, snakes, and even wolves. On top of the slide building rests an outside terrace, with one parasol still remaining. The area surrounding the property is one giant wilderness. The property itself is a tropical paradise once owned by human society, but right now a wide variety of wild animals has claimed the place as their own, turning it into a time portal where nature isn't constrained to the outside of the area, but has managed to find its way into the tropical landscape over a time period of several years. The inside of the building houses another big swimming pool, but this inside area is terrorized by a lonely leopard who is hellbent on hunting down any animal that dares enter the water-filled, crumbling sauna. The open terrace above however, is seen by many birds as THE hotspot for sunbathing, due to the many left-behind chairs and dining tables scattered around up there. Although there is some stuff left near the palm trees -- items which used to belong to human visitors, such as beach chairs and empty juice glasses -- food is scarse around the volleyball court, which one wouldn't consider to be the case at first glance, seeing as there's both a drinks bar and the wreckage of an old ice cream truck resting among the outskirts of the paradise. It isn't visible on this picture, but just off the edge of the paradise border, rest the ice cream cart and the empty drinks bar, on a grass-covered walking path leading up to the mini pool and the volleyball sand court. A large wall can be seen if one looks through the mishmash of trees and plants not far away from the court. A big part of this wall has been removed, however it used to devide the volleyball area and the water slide building, before the whole place was shut down. Passersby claim the leopard living inside the pool tower to be responsible for the deaths of a handful of people, causing the number of overall visitors to dwindle -- so much so, that the place had to be permanently closed. Now, the forces of nature are slowly but surely taking the area back, both outside and inside the building, the centerpiece of this once vibrant and joy-filled walhalla.
