Another amazing creature I adopted from Ashurrr! An Ancient Devourer of souls!

Decide to name him Vrochkharthiuz (Vruh-kar-fee-uz), which I loosely based it on katavrochthízo̱, which means "devour", or "gobble" in Greek
Vrochkhar is also optional for those who'd prefer something a bit shorter.
(Apologies if info and story is a bit rough atm)
Age: 20,000+
Once one of the Guardians of the underworld for the God of Death, mighty and strong with his partisan, keeping watch and protecting the great hall of the God of Death's palace. But this Guardian also had a curious mind. Researching and studying the world above, and even attempting to learn secrets this world had to offer.
He would from time to time get caught not being at his post or being distracted during his duty reading books from the library.
Even going as far as to use the ancient library belonging to the Death God and his beloved, even peeking into sections forbidden to every except the God of Death and his wife.
Some of these books have helped him imagine more and more of the world, while at the same time fuelling more and more of his curiosity.
One day while sorting through the shelves, while no one was looking, he sneaked over into the room where the forbidden part of the library was, using a small spell to unlock the door as he usually does each time.
While looking through the books, he noticed one that he didn't recognise among a section of dozens of books he had gone through on multiple occasions. The cover felt almost like strangely soft and squishy skin with most of it being pale white with bits of red and blue colours moving along the book as it pulsated, the pages felt abnormal as well, almost like flesh of some sort of sea creature.
With words and letters he had never seen throughout his life, all completely unknown to him.
Inside, he felt a tinge of fear of what he may have came across, but at the same time his curiosity got the better of him and against his better judgement, he would attempt to decipher the book's mysterious language and see if it would help him learn more of the world he still couldn't fully understand.
Hours turned to days, he would try to figure out the words and the book itself. Days turned to weeks, he became more restless, thinking he was closer and closer to figuring out the language, to no avail.
Weeks turned to months, he would somehow mutter words he believed were the ones in the book, yet he still couldn't understand them somehow.
Month after month, he started to abandon his Guardian duties, becoming more and more restless, almost seeming like a madman on a foolish quest. Muttering more unusual words he never usually spoke, and even started to speak less in his usual tongue, his friends and associates noticing and becoming concerned with his behaviour.
... A year passes, he has finally started to figure out the language, at the cost of his sanity. Since then, his associates have become more concerned with his condition, asking what's happening with him, is there something wrong? Only for his replies to sound almost unintelligible and strange. The God of Death himself even attempting to intervene, only for not much of a proper response from the broken down Guardian.
Months later... He's figured out the language of the book, it's secrets and whispers. The book feeds him it's knowledge, it demands he ascends with the knowledge he has gained..
He goes to travel the lower levels of the Underworld to begin his attempt at ascension. He gathers the lost souls wondering aimlessly, the book whispers what he should do, it grants him the power of souls itself! With it, he starts to devour the lost souls, setting him down a dark and horrible path he has forced himself down.
More and more he devoured lost souls that wondered in sight, even developing a bright light in his eyes and chest as his torso began to open up, with yellow bits of energy seeping out like smoke. And overtime, the book would slowly disappear more and more, until finally disappearing as the Guardian would change more and more..
Eventually, the Death God would notice a great disturbance in his realm, investigating the area he felt the disturbance, he would encounter a massive, horrid creature devouring lost souls dwelling up in the region of the Underworld.
Shocked by it's appearance, he pulled out his bident and proceeded to battle the soul devouring beast. After a long and devastating battle, he managed to slay it, however it would not stay down for long, and so he would banish it into the deepest darkest pit of the Underworld. In a dark black void with an abandoned ruined palace, made from the corpse of a fallen Titan.
And despite being sealed so far below, it would still lure in lost souls with it's hypnotic light, bringing souls into this dark and sunless void.
And it wasn't until much later that the Death God would find out that that creature was the Guardian who had started acting strange a long while ago. Saddened and outraged by this, he would find out it was one of the books from the forbidden room of his ancient library that was the cause of it. And so, he would burn and destroy everything in the room, until finally he was finish it by burning and melting the very door to the room, forever sealing all the secrets destroyed behind.
Afterwards, he would strip the name of the Guardian from all records and scrolls in his domain, wishing everyone to forget what happened, and the Guardian he had trusted so long ago. Wishing and hoping there was a way to fix the tragedy that befell unto him...
