Another scene from the south end of the tidflats. That side was not accessable without a very chilly swim, we were content to stick (or nearly get stuck) to our side of the channel.

I've got a little Kodak HD camera (Kodak Easyshare Z1275) from a few years back that does auto-pano's Ya take three shots using the camera's auto align thingy, and the camera does the merge all right there, and viola Superpano! I also now have a Wide Angle lens for one of the production camera's (which I can barrow anytime I give the crew some notice)
This little sucker is a few years old, but still works pretty cool, I did a checksie on the great Bay of E and found one in the dirt cheap range: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl.....&itemid=280605969079&ff4=263602_304652
Here's the best spec sheet/review board that I often use for checking out cameras:

Its no production level camera, but it works for being small, easy to use, and have some cool features.
IRL I do some environmental productions using a variety of cameras (video and still) so I have access to a few different cameras for taking my various shots.
Hope this helps :)

Thanks! I definitely will. I've been planning to buy one for awhile but I need money first :P I'm really just looking for something basic though, like 10 megapixels or more and with some extra features, like maybe the auto-pano feature you mentioned and other general stuff. And preferably not too tiny, because the camera I have is SMALL and I find it hard to hold it steady.
Here's what I'd recommend for someone who whats some basic features, but solid performance: http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consu.....rshot_sx120_is
I know you can find a few of these on the used market, right now Wall-Mart carries them, and they average around $230 in retail
have the 10mp your looking for, have some AWESOME zoom at 10x Optical, which is really very impressive for a camera its size (relatively small)
Get an SD card to go with that 2gb to start for around $12 bucks, and there ya go thing runs on AA batteries and lasts a decent time.
I have a predecessor of this camera by a few generations and it was a nice rig.

I tend to have a few I count on, I have a personal bias towards canon's, regardless of having cameras ranging from Olympus to Sony and many brands in between.
The little Kodak I took the shot with is good, has a high mp rate, but just doesn't perform in comparaision to my older and less Mp Canon. Its size however is the reason I was carrying it that day. I wasn't out on a photoshoot and just had my purse with me and thats about it, so no big cameras for that trip. I always have a camera with me

When I'm on shoot, I get to use such cameras as that. I routinely use a Canon EOS 10D from a few years ago, a subSLR Olympus D10, a Canon S3is, and now just recently for the all weather stuff I now have access to a GoPro HD camera too. The only thing that would remotely fit in a small purse or handbag is that GoPro camera, but that one is really rather specialized for extreme video's. In particular that camera is going to be in the water with fish at a local fish hatchery and fish ladders watching fish migration, and spying for predation of said fishies.
It partially depends on who I'm shooting with, if its with the owner of the company, then I get the big Canon, if not I get the Olympus. I personally own the Canon S3is and the Kodak which I didn't list up there but is still mine. The GoPro will be mine after Christmas, after I educate a few others on its use after that the company will be getting a pair of those for their purposes.
A little known fact about Washington. We have alot of oil Refineries here. The stuff comes down from Alaska via tanker, and docks up in several places around here to be processed and distributed. We've got BP, Arco, and BP Mobile, I think even Shell has a plant out here if I'm not mistaken.
