Character

Lieutenant-commander Turash-Kae (nicknamed "Four-Kae") is the chief engineer at the UFIS starship Pioneer. Working up as a specialist in warp physics, she has extended her skill set throughout the years to become a senior officer overseeing the entire engineering department on her starship. With 37 years, she's relatively young for a member of her species. Always the sunshine on her crew, she hopes that her joy will motivate her colleagues to do their best. She is very welcoming of new people in her life, especially when they're aliens, about which she has a strong curiosity. Kae is also a prankster, occasionally pulling off small, but innocent practical jokes on her colleagues.

Kae loves to experiment with stuff and even during off hours, you see her tinkering with equipment, and she especially loves to work with old technology. If she isn't tinkering, she loves to make music, and has taught herself several instruments. Other than some of her homeworld's string instruments, she was thrilled to learn the piano when she was a student at the academy on Terra, and later learned herself to play the guitar with a four-handed technique she figured out herself to compensate for having only three fingers on her hands. On the flip side, she is very poor at handling boredom and always needs something to do. The ship's doctor has diagnosed her with ADHD, though it seems to be a more common trait of her species.

Kae is still single, though she's open to a relationship with basically anyone. For some ex-partners, her workaholic lifestyle got in the way, and that may be something she needs to learn to balance better.

The Chtyruce species

The Chtyruci's origin's are on the tropical planet of Modrin, a planet covered in large lush forests and having a wet climate, except for two bands of deserts around 30° latitude on both hemispheres. Their civilisation is built entirely on their life within his forests, even developing agriculture that works in harmony with the forest environment. This made going through the industrial revolution a very hard phase in their development, as it was harming the very forests they live in, but this made them some of the most clever environmentalist engineers in the galaxy, and have gained great knowledge how to maintain and protect the environment while still growing as a technological civilisation.
Despite their advances, their culture still believes in the spirits of the forests to this day, who are the believed guardians of Modrin.

The coat of a Chtyruce individual is strikingly cyan, blue or violet, which is a good colour to hide yourself within the blue-coloured flora of the Modrian forests. Their flesh and blood is violet due to a lack of hemoglobin in their blood. Their most striking physical property are their four arms, with three-fingered hands each. This gave them a huge advantage when their species' tool-using trait evolved. They could hold on and use tools in one pair of arms while slinging through the forests with the other. Even their feet have opposable thumbs to hold on tree branches. They are quite energetic, even if their diet mostly consists of mostly fruits and vegetables.

Despite having four nostrils, Chtyruci don't have an exceptional sense of smell, and use their smaller nostrils to "calibrate" their smell. Their eyes have vertical pupils that gives them better vision in the darker parts of the forests and at night, and they have a bio-luminescent orb on an antenna on their forehead. They can see near-UV light, but can't see lower light frequencies like red, which makes them partially colourblind.

Female individuals have four breast and a pouch, in which they also birth their children into. This has lead to a very low mortality rate for birthing mothers in ancient times compared to other species. Their litters are usually only consists of one or two children, who they can carry in their pouch until they are 5 years old. Ctyruci mature slower than humans and can live up to 200 Terran years, though most won't reach 150.

This is a character I created for an upcoming story I'm writing taking place in  sabrina-taur 's UFIS story universe. It was great fun creating my first alien species!
