Trying to figure out a design for a basilisk character, someone to do bits like in https://www.furaffinity.net/view/49613584/ some more, that's something I can manage. Character design is not my strength --- note that after over a quarter-century I still don't have a consistent look for Austin --- but, with some help from Walt Kelly, I've got ... a something? This might not be where I end up but it's getting closer to a viable character still within my capabilities and funny-animal-comic-book style.

The Walt Kelly assistance is from the hen he uses in The Brownies story 'The Chicken's Child', from the August 1948 Four-Color Comics #192, https://comicbookplus.com/?dlid=34330 page 22. Also, if you looked at page #22 there and didn't know Walt Kelly wrote and drew that, you would know Walt Kelly wrote and drew that. The hen's cry of 'Whee-hawken!' gives it away.

I'm aware there are other body plans for basilisks out there, I'm just trying this one because I'm lousy at birds but I'm good at long snakey bodies.
