Martin and Bethany discussed and talked about many parts of the history lesson, and it got to a point where some of recess was missed while looking for answers. By the end of it, Martin only seemed to understand a little bit about the lessons. After they left, Bethany rolled her eyes and walk toward the teacher's desk. "What a waste of time. All that explaining and talking just for him to walk away with even more questions."
"How that a bad thing?" Torrent smiled, he's curious now. You'll get to help him more tomorrow and he may still want answers."
"They're kids, they don't care about history though." Bethany said, "Especially this young. They'd rather go outside or watch cartoons."
"You'd be surprised actually." Torrent said, "Children are very curious about the world, and some will look for answers themselves some times when they are excited about it."
Bethany gave this one look to her, but Torrent simply smiled back.
"If you don't believe me, Just wait till tomorrow." Torrent said, "Talk with him again about the world war."
The following day, Bethany did approach Martin, and he did ask a lot of questions about the lesson during class. However as Bethany would talk with him, he started to smile and nod more to what was said, and even answer things as Beth was trying to talk. Martin seemed to get excited from there as Beth would talk and explain things with him. After a while Bethany looked to Lucy who was hiding away by the books again, She spoke with her about what she was doing and a bit of why. It felt like Bethany was at square 1 again, but she already started talking with Lucy.
When recess finally came and the children were let out, Bethany walked to the teacher's lounge and flop on the couch as she sat down. Torrent heard her come in and giggled as she drank some tea.
"Why would you ever go as far as that kind of stuff." Bethany said, "It gets so exhausting having to talk, explain, and repeat things to just a few kids."
"It gets easier the more you do it." Torrent said, "But that's the hardest part, you have to keep doing it."
"But why?" Bethany said, "Why even do this? You just have to teach the lesson plan, you don't have to go with ever single kid over it like you do."
"In a way, you're right, and you're wrong." Torrent said, "I could just teach the lesson plan and let some students fall behind, but I want them to have a good future. know what's happened in the past and learn from it, then build their future better."
"Are you speaking from experience there?" Bethany looked at her, "You sound like you really were someone who had it bad."
Torrent didn't answer, she even froze for a moment and looked away.
"Oh... I'm sorry, did I.. bring up something bad?" Bethany said, "Was it something to do with childhood?"
"Yeah, it's a rather touchy subject for me." Torrent said, "Bit it is why I want them to have a good life, know things that could help them out."
"I... I won't pry more." Bethany said, "So you really mean what you say?"
"Yes."
"And the same with that getting easier stuff?"
"Yes."
Bethany paused for a moment, looking down and thinking deeply, "Okay, I'll keep it up then."
