I used to collect and paint D&D miniatures. I had a brush with a single hair in it for painting scleras, irises, and pupils. Unfortunately my eyes are not as sharp, nor my hands as steady, as they once were.
I find the gray plastic prints to have the best detail. I bought a few and have them set up on a shelf in the office. It's cool to be able to see "my characters" in physical form, even if they're just an approximation of what the cartoons look like.

What *would* boots for digitigrade legs look like? Boots for humans work because it's a fairly straightforward and simple design, and can be made of exceptionally rigid leather for protection. But a digitigrade leg has an extra joint that needs to be taken into consideration, meaning they're going to need a more flexible boot leg material. Something closer to a Tabi Boot, perhaps. But that doesn't offer much in the way of protection, certainly not against swords or bullets. Hmmm. Maybe banded or brigandine armor, sandwiching plates of metal between layers of a more supple leather? Protection at the joint would still be lessened, but it would at least protect the shins better.
