I assure you, all Space Pirates dress like this .....
my second Ghost Of Inktober Space pirate for this year - from back around '07 (?) - inked over a minimal pencil sketch- becuse sometime doing a ruff in ink is more intuitive - as like being able to see what the black areas will look like as you design them - which is a big part of this pic. Later on i came to like the rough lines- they have a certain energy that i don't think regular clean line work would have - so i've never had any plans to "clean-up" the line work.
The proportions, on the other hand... She was intentionally drawn with some stylistic distortions - too-thin/enlongated/head-too-small - the basic comic book tropes. Looking back on this old pic i found that i still rilly lieked the inking but i wanted her have slightly more normal proportions. So i spent the last day doing the "sawing-the-lady-in-half" and reassembling her parts ... which did lead to a bit of digital re-inking and clean-up.
There will be a later elaborate version of this, but i just got this done - and i am pleased with the simple back and white version - and so i'm posting it.

Freddy Krueger called -- he wants his glove back.
From a practical viewpoint, that hair would be a nightmare to maintain in battles with victims and law enforcement (and keep falling in her eyes). As for the total lack of coordination and rationality in re: her attire, "...all Space Pirates dress like this..." A valid point, that.
Your squash/stretch and lady sawing must have worked. I'm really not seeing any particular proportional weirdness.

i've never seen any of the Nightmare series, or Halloween, Chainsaw, etc movies .... the clips of them that i've seen are cringe. "Satan's Rejects" on the other hand ....
Anyhoo, i think i was having more of a Wolverine x Scissorshands vibe in mind.
Space Pirates have two fashion statements : Powered Full Body Battle Armor sends the message " We must fight to subdue you!" - The other option is this attire which sends the message "You don't have a chance in hell. You are my play thing." ... and sometimes that can be a very good thing.
Her legs were once too short - made them longer. Damn, too long... shortened them a bit. Problem fixed. But then i noticed they were still too long. But it looked kinda cool - that long-legged exaggeration is something we have all gotten so used to that we often don't consciously notice it. - and she's still thinner than real human proportions.
Also why did i give her claw glove a thumb and 3 fingers ? Sometimes when i look back on old pics i wonder "What the heck was i thinking ?"

I'm not a big fan of the In-Your-Face-Horror genre, myself. I liked Psycho, finding it cerebral. Hitch was a master. Long ago, I had a girlfriend who was a self-described 'Buckets of Blood' fanatic. We went to see the 1985 Sting/Jennifer Beals vehicle The Bride, which she declared, "Too pale." (* sigh *)
Her legs look pretty good -- and they are quite visible, here.
My usual question is, "What the heck was i drinking?" but I gave that up for Lent 15 years or so ago.

Awesome inks!! Man I miss outfits like this. So sick of scifi/fantasy outfits all having to be "realistic" and unsexy now. I'm all about that sword & planet, sword & sorcery style where everyone is heroically skimpy as hell and it was just COOL.
Anyways, spectacular penwork and splendid costume design!
