Both Gin and Weed are Tore-Ge Akitas. ( tiger striped ) they just failed to draw the stripes on GDW >_> but Gin had some in GNG i beleive.

Gin has his stripes, yes. and Tora-ge was pattern, yes^^

though i only was told shiba, i never researched it. so whichever he is, still a kickin' pup :P
