And now we get into the good stuff....
The streets of Fonast, home of the Hybrids, never seem any better. I walk down the streets, passing many others like me, a result of human interference, an amalgamation of animal and human. Wise as man, savage as animals. Rain taps against my hood, the material soaked, sending biting chills down my spine. Water drains the warmth from my feet, unprotected from the elements. My fur matting together. Another Hybrid approaches me, her fur dark as a moonless night. I've seen the ritual. I've done it myself. She walks up to me to beg for coin, I grant her a few Paws, the currency warm from my touch. She thanks me, and takes her leave. Money...a sad and demanding investment, a curse manifest by humans. We can barely stay alive out here, currency's weight only burdens us further. Onlookers see my gift. A stray group of humans begin to hunt me, following my steps. The anticipation stops me, I halt in my tracks, the group surrounds me. What I assume to be the leader leans up into my face. His disgusting breath washing over me. "Look what the fox dragged in, a nice healthy bag o' coin..." He swats a hand against my belt, the coins jingling in my bag. "Back of," I reply, the leader smirks, "And why would we? You Hybrids are worthless, the only value you got is right there." He pats his own belt, imitating my own bag. A glint of steel catches my eye. Another human drew a pistol, making a poor attempt to conceal it under his arm. I look back to the perpetrator. A another glare of armor under his clothes. "We may be worthless now, but we did win the Subsidence." I warn, snaking a hand towards the hilt of my own weapon. "Fair...but...that was a long time ago, now, you got two options, and I think they're obvious." He snaps his fingers. Footsteps splash behind me, a blade escaping from its sheath pierces the air. I stand my ground, the blade encroaching. I find a glass building to my right, the figure raising a blade above me. Before it falls I draw my own blade, pure energy forming a sword in an instant, and it slices the steel blade with no resistance, as if it wasn't there, the group stands in shock, the glow of the blade an impossibility for my hands to wield. In a flash my blade brushes past the leader's neck, sparks of energy armour revealed itself. The pistol sounds, its bolt rattling the air. I clench my left fist, the glove against it beeps, another piercing glow shines. Dozens of small knives fly out from under my cloak, the blades already staring down their target. I give a slight flick, the glove beeps again, sending knives at the gunman; a few pierce his legs, blood falls, but many stick to the wall, as a warning. The first attacker tackles me, and the leader steps back, drawing his own firearm. I send a harsh kick to the groin to the human on top of me, and push him off to the side, his body stiff from my blow. I regain my ground, standing calmly. The leader aims at my head. I simply give a slight gesture on my sword, a set of metal raises above me. I follow with my blade. The metal snaps together, forming an edged frame. Swiftly, while the leader was frozen in shock, I swing my blade against his neck, the armour flickered, trying to protect it's wearer, but failed, the steel cut through. Blood drops from a small cut that formed under my blade, a remain silent. The leader finally got the message. He runs off as a coward, leaving his group, wailing in pain. I abandon them. Leaving them to their lessons. I continue onwards, making for my home.
