in the heat of a battle where "stab them before they stab you" is key,
how does one NOT end up killing an ally or two? just saying.

Brightly colored tabards/uniforms. Much easier for a panicked mind to remember "Stab blue! Don't stab red!" than "Don't stab him, that's Jimmy from the 42nd Brigade!" ^_~

So THAT'S why armies use Color Coded For Your Convenience. So Berzerkers haveatleast a 20% chance of not stabbing any friends.

Well, that, and removing individuality. If you think of yourself as a person instead of a soldier, you might question orders or do something you weren't told to do. And the leaders need you to be predictable. They need every soldier to act as they're ordered, so they can make plans and order other soldiers to do things based on what you'll be doing. ^_~

actually colors are to distinguish friend and foe in a battle... it gets chaotic when everyone around you is being violent... bright colors tell if the person next to you is an ally, or someone who's about to chop off your head....
