I have to talk about something with you. It's about Patreon.
I had to deal with an Art-thief who was posting my Patreon exclusive content on different websites. I was able to take a lot of it down but I was so tired of it that I had to take a week off. I know that person is a Patron of Tier 1 but I don't know who. So I have to change things about my tiers.
The income I have on that website plays a huge role in my life and I currently am struggling to get everything done. People tell me I should work less but I can't because this way I wouldn't have enough money to pay my bills. So I often have to work on my weekends and I started to notice negative effects because of this. I have to keep an eye on my mental and physical health. But of course, I LOVE to draw for you and couldn't imagine a better job!
So to keep it short here are the thing I am planning to change:
Tier1: will have access to sketches, commission announcements, and access to Discord (as soon as the server is finished)
Tier 1: will be raised to 2USD
----> for this I will create a "Tier 1 2.0" so you can join if you like and the old Tier 1 will get deleted (at the end of November)
Tier 2: will give you access to WIPs, Polls, and the monthly illustration
Tier 3: no changes
When I hit certain Milestones more rewards will get added, like streaming and additional full illustrations.
This way it's possible to weed out the thief and get relieved from some pressure.
I tried to keep my Tiers low as long as possible, so I hope 2 USD for tier 1 is okay.
I also don't want to raise the prices of my commissions. I have to add a 7% value-added tax on commissions from January and I don't want to add a price increase on top of that. So Patreon could help with this.
I decided to upload this here and on Twitter first to increase the chances the thief doesn't see it. I have to think of how to upload this post to patron the best way first.
I am not very good at writing especially in a language that's not my mother tongue and I hope I did an okay-ish job here. I hope you guys understand! ;-;

I hope this will solve the problem of the art thief who is on patreon and make your life more peaceful.
Especially since this summer, I've seen a lot of stolen art on deviantart and since October, so-called people who claim to be artists using an AI ART. I hope it will calm down soon with more severe measures on the different sites.
On the other hand, I advise you to consider thinking of an alternative to Twitter, with what is currently happening since the purchase of Elon Musk and his account certification thing. Art and identity theft have exploded on it since this week.

Glad you know about the twitter situation, especially as it's getting chaotic with Musk and all that rich man frenzy. X'D
But I hope it helps, having a fear that your rates will increase even more, especially with inflation, it doesn't help. I'm not saying not to do it, it's mainly for me that I say that. X'D

Maybe a small suggestion here, one way to make your art kind of immune to thieves is rather than make art Patreon Exclusive, just make the delivery of it onto FA delayed. So you tease it, people get to see it on Patreon earlier.. And they get to see the picture a month later or so. Would also stop folks from joining your Patreon for a day, collecting all the art by downloading it and unsubbing from the Patreon. I've seen artists do this before and it seems to work pretty well, though this is just a suggestion
The delayed posting method works best it convinces others to support with a patron tier that allows for custom art instead of motivating others who were dissatisfied to repost everything atleast from experience outside of art with educational content stolen from me it actually in the long run made me more from more engagement from outsiders coming across the larger amount of content who wanted indepth information on a particular subject on historical matters or just liked me because I didn't hide anything
It’s awful that you have to deal with all of this. Hopefully you’ll find that art thief and give him one hell of a reckoning.
Hopefully they won’t be getting into that discord server either (btw I think it’s a wonderful idea, but I suggest making it a tier 2 reward. That’s just me, though, you do what you want “:^) )
