I know that I counted my plushies last year and they were over sixty I think. Wonderful people all over the world are kind enough to either send them to me from their home countries or in their travels. In my little computer den here (7 x 11') I have 24 plushies (soft). If I add in all the lion statues, placques and toys that number goes up to 41. Adding in the pictures on the walls (none of my own artwork) the total goes up to 51. And I love and treasure them all. =^^=
Someday soon I will have to go through the entire house and catalog them all.

Aw, you have good parents. Give them each a hug. :)
When my collection started to get large I had to limit myself to only aquiring "unusual" ones. That fellow over there on my printer was made in China and is laying down sleeping (like a kittykat). One of the little ones up on top of my monitor has a gray and white mane and tail tuft as if he were elderly. :)

Haha it's like a little kiddie's room. Sorry I'm not making fun of you. I love all the cat plushies. :) And are those canids in the back there?
I don't particularly like cats but they looks so pretty and colorful. Very healthy looking. It's definitely apparent that you take good care of your pets.

is it an omen that the one cat named Ferocity looks away from the camera? :)
i also have lotsa plushies, but there is nothing like living fur. thus, i envy you. :)
i have yet to find a lion plushie with really black mane. i found one with the mane colour pattern of south african lions, though. dunno who made it, it bears a brand of some large store chain. but it looks life-like sitting there.

aah. that plushie is only about house-cat sized. :) i have some tigers and a lion about half-life size; you know, those plushies with a styrofoam head inliner. they are quite popular here in germany.
as far as i recall, the south african lion subspezies has dark brown to almost black mane, lighter toward belly and shoulders and with a whitish-golden frame around the forehead and cheeks. a little like barbary lion pattern.

So many kitties! I wanna lay in that bed and feel it rumble with all the purring.
I have some plushies too, but not many. My favorite is a lion that I got when I was about 7 years old. He's as big as I am. I can cuddle up in his paws and be held by him.
But he's being held in a closet in another room and he smells dusty. And he needs more stuffing. I wonder if I can get someone to repair/restore him. But finding someone like that on Maui of all places. -_-;

Oh, hang onto him, Rys! Through well-meaning parents we lose too much of our childhood (looks in mirror and hopes he never grows up) "friends".
If you look at the middle of the picture where thge one wall meets the other, that dark shape with the wolf mask in his lap is my "teddy bear" who was made for me when I was about 3 Y/O.
My suggestion for saving your leonine plushie "friend" is to inquire of a tailor. They are in the business of sewing. Don't feel silly about asking. Tell them that the plushie was given to you by a departed relative and you want to preserve it.
Let me know how it works out.

It is. While I think of them as my "kids" they are really all my "friends."
Right now I am uncomfortably sitting on the very *edge* of my computer chair because Cinnamon got here first and is taking her noon-time nap. It's definitely a give-and-take relationship between them and me. :D

Ah, well they ALL don't. :( I have the upstairs half of the pride (Muffin, Cinnamon, Lucki, Ferocity and Socks) and the downstairs half (Penny, Nickel and Spike). Something about 'defending their territories from invaders'. In that they are about as silly as humans -- but I still love them all ... the cats, not the humans. :)
You know, you may be right:S It's like, when they start coming up to me and begins to purr like crazy, i just black out and don't remember anything before i wake up a few hours later covered in cat hair and drowsy from what i think might be too much allergy medicine:S I only have these flashbacks about cuddeling and nuzzeling certain animals that were in the room before it all went black:S
only if they could laugh their asses off over the puny two-legger's useless efforts. :)
there is something about that "bent them to our wills" thing...
one day i visited a girfriend at her parent's home, where their cat was roaming the garden because of those strangers that had showed up (three other friends). a hour after my arrival ms. cat came striding along on a garden wall as if by chance or something. she looked me up, and purred. i hummed to her, and we started to rub ehads in a feline way... for the next ten minutes! :)
girlfriend watched us all the time, exclaiming that the cat has never done something like this before...
for the rest of the weekend the cat came alongside me every now and then for a quick headrub, or a few fur strokes.

*chuckles* Right at this moment Muffin (my big male cat) is sprawled across my computer desk sleeping. Everytime he wakes up he begins to purr and waves his big paw at me to get my attention so that I will pet him. I do, he purrs some more with his eyes half-shut then falls back asleep.
:)
Opps, Ferocity has just climbed into my lap -- makes it a little difficult to type as she is rubbing the top of her head against the underside of my chin.
:)

Hahaha, cute :3 Logan, my kitty, likes to sit on my keyboard whenever he wants cuddles... So, if I'm typing something at that very moment, he'll always cause very amusing grammatical accidents... I even keep a file where I copy-paste all the random "poetry" he types with his butt, just in case someday he ends up writing a best-seller... Kind of like in "The Neverending Story" (The book, not the movie...), but with a butt instead of a lettered dice xD
