The lone man quietly stands there as he's watching from his position on the overlook, calm, relaxed, and at ease with his surroundings as his bright-colored eyes stare distantly out towards the beyond. His thoughtful gaze traces along every small bit and inkling of detail as he takes in the scene around him... The mix of dark, shadowy purple and blue of the coming night bleeding and blending into the lingering warm, bright hues of yellow, red, and orange of the fleeting sunset, the blackened, distant shapes of the lands just across the way, the stillness of the lake below as the faint breeze only barely disturbs the surface, a vast mirror giving an almost perfect reflection of the sky above it...
The lit cigarette in his hand burns steadily as it gives off a constant stream of smoke, acrid and earthy with a faint smell similar to that of grass after being freshly cut. He doesn't take a drag from it yet, though, instead electing to just idly roll and swivel it in between his fingers for the moment. It's in places like these where he feels like he can be completely at peace, simply observing and drinking in the beauty of the natural world around him, his wandering thoughts stilled and transfixed as he focuses on enjoying every second of it. With his keen eyes, the artist surveys it all, taking a mental photograph of the scene to keep in his memory for later when he has a brush in hand to translate it onto canvas. It likely wouldn't be an exact, perfect replica of this place, as not many people necessarily had a photographic sense of recollection and could remember everything they've seen down to all of the finest and most intricate details.
But for him, the accuracy of it was irrelevant. What mattered most to him was being able to capture the emotions and the memories associated with this moment, that he could look upon it and imagine himself being here again. Feeling the warm, light breeze as it ruffles his fur and hair, watching the reflection of the sky on the water as the sun hides below the horizon to make way for the imminent night, and smelling the familiarly faint, musky aroma of a burning cigarette nearby. In a way, it was like keeping a personal scrapbook for himself through his sketches and paintings, sharing stories of his journeys and ventures by commemorating and solidifying those impressions in a way that felt natural to him through pencil, ink, and pigments. Others might look upon it and share similar sorts of feelings or be struck with memories that a scene like this brings to mind, or they may simply admire it as a beautiful and well-crafted piece of art and nothing more. Either way, all that really mattered was that there was a shared sense of appreciation between anyone and everyone when looking at works like the ones he makes, art didn't need to have any particular meaning to be able to still be admired, after all.
Ah, right... It was starting to really get dark now, maybe it was about time for him to get a move on and find somewhere to stay for the night. Although, it might not hurt to linger here, if only just for a little bit longer...
An absolutely gorgeous art piece that I got featuring my latest and most wonderful new child Santiago, depicting the chupacabra man himself as he watches and admires the beauty of the dusky sky in between sunset and night and the darkened landscape around him. Sometimes it's nice to be able to just slow down, take some time to just soak in and lose yourself in the sights of the world around you and really see how wonderful and lovely it is...
That aside, I absolutely just love everything about this art piece.... The composition, the beautifully done shading, highlights, and texture work on Santiago's fur, hair, and clothes, the lighting on the cigarette in his hand and the wisps of smoke coming off of it, and of course the gorgeous looking colors of the sky, water, and distant landscape in the background. It really makes the piece feel so warm and inviting with maybe just a slight hint of melancholy to it. And of course the little details like the bracelets on his wrist, the rendering work on his tusks and fangs, hell... even the added noise was a super cool touch, major props to the artist for doing such an amazing job as always! I'm so incredibly happy with how this came out, and being able to get such a nice piece done for Santiago too! He actually looks quite nice with his hair pulled back in a manbun like this, wouldn't you agree? Hehe~ <33

“Hmmmm… Well, it would certainly be a bit of a waste to not share a beautiful view like this with someone, no? I wouldn’t refuse the offer of company, you’re always welcome to join me if you wish, mi amigo.” - Santiago
Heh, you can definitely rely on Casty to really deliver when it comes to incredible art! They’re one of my favorites, for sure!
Thank you so much for the fave and for your lovely comment as always, sweetie, always makes me incredibly happy to see your notifications pop up in my feed~ 💜💜💜

"Indeed. I'd be very happy to join you, amigo. I've been feeling lonely myself. Why not we keep each other company~?" - Henry
Oh absolutely, especially since that first lix we got together. I need to commission Casty more! :3
Of course sweetie~! Love your characters and the art you've been getting~! 💙💙💙

“That would be muy bonito, my friend. Come, come, there’s always plenty of room by my side if you’re willing to stick around for a while. Please don’t mind the smoke, I understand that the smell of cannabis can be rather pungent and not to everyone’s tastes, so I hope it won’t bother you too much.” - Santiago
Heh, I mean I don’t want to plant any ideas… but you definitely should get more commissions from Casty sometime. At least if there’s a good opportunity to do so and you can spare the money for it, of course~ :3
Awwwww…. Well thank you so much, sweetie~ I appreciate it a lot! And there’ll definitely be more on the way! Of course most of it will be dedicated to Kira since she’s my main ‘sona, but I’m trying to spread the love around to other characters too whenever possible, hehe~ 💜💜💜

I'm not against ideas.. :3
Oh yea, definitely. After the first pic he's done for us and the pics I've seen him do for you, I'm convinced to commission him again when I do get the chance and all. I think Gur-Gahar is my main when it comes to Henry, but I'm happy to explore other options too for my other characters as well x3 💙💙💙

"Is that so...? It's been quite a long time since I've really had someone who's wanted to share company with me, much less anyone I could truly call a friend. I feel that I'd like to get to know you more, mi amigo, so you're welcome to stay as long as you like. And in that case, might I offer you a puff or two of this cig, then? I'd be more than happy to share if you'd like to partake." - Santiago
Hehe, well... if you're absolutely sure~ ;3
Haha, that's certainly fair enough, having a go-to artist that you know you can trust to do a great job when it comes to certain characters and such. I think that's kind of what Casty has been for me so far, since they always do such incredible work and the prices are pretty reasonable for the kind of quality that you're getting. If you do end up commissioning them again sometime, I'd be excited to see how it turns out! Though to be fair, I'm always eager to see new art that you get just in general, hehe~ ^w^ 💜💜💜

"Yeah, I wouldn't have said what I said if I didn't mean it. I'm usually lonely after being alone for so long.. Yeah, I'd like that, to get to know you too. Heh, yeah, hit me up with those puffs." - Henry
You know I'm sure~ ;3
Oh yeah, definitely. Also builds loyalty and whatnot. After seeing the art Casty has done and for our pic too, I'm definitely considering him to he one of the other go-tos for art of Henry and whatnot~ Oh, I plan to at some point :3
Hehe, same here. I'm always eager to see what new art you get and even more eager for collabs and all that~ ^.v.^ 💙💙💙

God, a beautiful picture and a beautiful story.
I can't look at him without feeling calm. this look, the cigarette goes out a little bit. this smell and feeling of the slowly coming darkness that absorbs everything and everywhere .. emotions.
I understand him. and this gives it a soul, that piece of life in which you believe.

Ahhhhhhh thank you so much, I'm so happy to hear that you enjoyed this piece and the little story as well... It always warms my heart to hear such wonderful and kind words! I certainly tried to convey it in a way to give some insight into the way that Santiago thinks and feels, giving the impression of his emotions and thoughts in that moment like how he shares them with others through his artworks and such... It felt really nice to write out something like this!
Thank you so much for faving and for your absolutely lovely comment, my dear friend~ <333 And of course, thank you for helping to create and design this character as well, I hope to be able to expand more on Santiago, his life, and who he is as an individual through such artworks and little stories like this. And I hope that you'll enjoy them as well!

"Of course, your company is always welcome, mi amigo. Enjoying a view like this is nice alone, but it would certainly be that much better to share it alongside someone else, no?" - Santiago
Thank you so much again!! Santiago is really such an interesting and lovely character to work with, and I'm glad to see that people are liking him so far! There will certainly be more art of him to come, hehe~ And as always, I'm so happy to hear that you enjoyed the little story too, and I always appreciate reading your wonderful comments and praise... “Hmmmmm… I think I would like that a lot, actually. Also hope you don’t mind the smoke too much. I enjoy partaking in a bit of cannabis here and there, but I understand the smell of it can be a bit off-putting to those who aren’t used to it.” - Santiago
Indeed! Casty has kinda become my sort of go-to favorite artist in a way, you know? You can always count on them to do an amazing job, and they always do their best to ensure the art comes out just as you like it! Would definitely recommend them if you’re looking for great quality commissions at reasonable prices, for sure~ ^^
