Demetri had been a frequent consumer of the coffee and cakes in Lottie's shop. So much so that he knew Khaos when she was cursed into the body of a feral mouse. At the time he did not know she was cursed. He assumed like many other of the patrons that it was Lottie's beloved pet. He would sneak her little scraps from his pastries when no one was looking which meant the world to Khaos. He never tapped on the glass, never mistreated her. This formed a bond. When Lottie finally broke the curse over Khaos and she was free the mouse knew exactly what she wanted to do. She wanted to talk to him, surprise him. So when he came in one day for his normal pastries and saw her cage empty he was sad. Until someone small and tiny jumped on his back. Irritation rushed through him at first but when Khaos covered his eyes and squeaked at him his heart sped up. Surely his friend...wasn't here like this. He called her name and she squeaked at him again, words still a little difficult as she tried to remember everything from her past. Warmth filled him and he smiled, more then happy to let Khaos sit upon his back until she wanted to move.
