Based loosely on 1520s-40s portraiture conventions. My first attempt at painting without line. The armour follows the conventions of western European armour of the early 16th century, though isn't based on any one piece or set. The sword is a generic katzbalger with red leather and brass fittings. I think the hat comes from Cranach or some woodcut or another.
