this is a story idea i had and was wondering if i could get any thoughts about it.
A child’s tears
I woke up on a cold December morning to hear a distant noise, that could not have been the wind, I stood up looking out the window to see a figure, small in stature, dressed in tattered clothing holding something, I could hear it crying as it walked around aimlessly in the snow. I felt sympathy for what ever it was well by this point I could tell it wasn’t a what but rather a who. I put on some light but warm clothing as I opened the door and jogged out to it to find it was a little human girl holding a small ,hand sewed, stuffed cat I looked at the girl before approaching further and asked “what are you doing outside it’s too cold and late for kids to be outside.” I saw her sniffle before looking up towards me tears welling up in her eyes as he said, her voice weak and tired.
“I-I have place to go mister, my parents died 3 days ago and my other relatives aren’t in town…”
I looked down towards her I could see the sadness and loneliness in her eyes before saying “well, I’m not usually one to take care of kids, but in this case I could make a exception… if you want you can stay with me until one of your relatives comes back…” but before I could finished I saw her run up towards me hugging my leg as he looked up with her tear filled eyes smiling “well first you’re going to have to let go.” he said watching her hug my leg tightly, before attempting to walk with her attached, she soon let go and reached up wanting me to hold her hand. I held her hand loosely as she tightened her grip as we walked back inside. When we got inside she looked up to me before letting go and dashing over to the fire place and started warming her self up.
I smiled and asked “do you need any food?” watching her and seeing her nod rapidly, I walked over to the cabinet and grabbed out a can of soup and poured it into a bowl and putting it in a microwave and added “it’ll be 2 minuets, how about I get our something warm to wear.” I said before getting a rather large towel, to her, and handed it to her seeing her wrap herself tightly with it shivering before hearing the microwave beep loudly as I walked off and handed her the food and said “if you need anything tell me ok?” I said smiling “thank you Mister.” she said before starting to eat her soup. I smiled and added one last thing before heading upstairs, “I’ll be upstairs and I’ll leave the door open, don’t be afraid of walking in and asking me for something ok?”
