Another screenshot of one of those ancient Charming Chuckles spinoff cartoons, featuring Pokey O'Possum, Milo Mink, Nestor H. Green, Gal Stenchy, Lappi T. Fox, and Froggle. It's rare that the whole cast appeared together in one reel like this! They're performing a bluegrass pastiche of "If I Were You," (Similar composition released earlier that year by Bob Emmerich & Buddy Bernier). The plot positioned Lappi as a traveling medicine man. He parked his carriage at a valley crossroads, and sold bottles of some sketchy elixir called "Boredom Cure" to a long line of depressed residents. For a dime, it solved their sadness, and induced a sort of frenzied surrealist hootenanny. It's unclear whether it was smuggled alcohol, or a just a censor-friendly medical potion. It's also unclear why the cast was suddenly Appalachian?
