Introduced in 1999, the Brother ML300 electronic typewriter is the next step up from the ML100, the most visible difference being that the ML300 is equipped with a 16-column, single-row dot matrix LCD. I received this typewriter from my contractor, who will be closing his law office by the end of the year, although I am still open for tech support at home, if he should ever need it. This particular unit appears to have been manufactured in August 2012, according to the date stamp on the inside of the keyboard cover, which doubles as a page rest.
What makes this typewriter stand out - compared to the Panasonic T325 I once had - is the fact that it has more useful features than the T325 it replaced, and especially the fact that carbon ribbons and correction tapes are still available and within reason, in terms of cost; there are 3-packs of ribbons that cost about US$17 per unit for the ML300 and other similar typewriters by Brother. For the old Panasonic typewriter, one might expect to pay $50 for a single ribbon.
