The moon would wax and wane, marking the time gone by for those who paid attention. But most time-telling was determined by the seasons. In All-Hollow, though the trees did not drop their leaves the air did indeed grow colder. The Ha'aowk grew out their pelts with a thick layer of undercoat to resist the cold and the winds, as did most of the small, furry creatures they hunted. From experience, they knew that within two moon cycles, the cold would become bitter and prey scarce. But for now, they would feast on the plentiful bounty as those prey also feasted to prepare for that coming cold.
