Just remember that this conversation continues from the previous page, so by all means read that one first before readin this one.
Okay, I had always planned to use this dialogue for their argument, however, I really should have stretched it out to two or three more pages. What I was going for was more of visual focus of the two of them "preparing their food", but in the most dynamic and dramatic way possible. Like this one scene from Yugioh (Season Zero) where Anzu (Tea) and the... "Special Ketchup". *shutters* However... I don't know what happened, if I'm completely honest. I got impatient or something and all of the dialogue that I planned out just came out all at once. And THEN the next page... UGH... It's so wrong.
Oh and quick note... This page was literally made in 2019 BEFORE Covid and more importantly BEFORE the movie "Bros" and is in no way related to it. I didn't see the film and do not plan on it.... Frankly, I think that Disney is about to release a much better ehem, quote "Gay Romantic Comedy". However, just like with the Twilight Series being a "love story".... not that hard to do. Or so I'm told. That's all I'm going to say on the topic.
Finally, I'm going to skip next weekend on posting. Thanksgiving and all that. Sorry. Thanks for understanding.

1) Well, it's actually very hard to find the animated version as it was never dubbed into English as by the time the Anime came to the West they were already heavily focused on the "Duel Monsters" aspect. This is also why it's known as "Season Zero" as they kinda sorta rebooted it for us.
Got the entire hardcore Manga collection of that "season" though. ^_^
2) GOOD.... Wait, you mean that anime that started the "Yandere" stereotype?... Never actually seen it myself, but dang it's famous. I'm asking because "Todoroki" is from My Hero Academy. I think you mean "ToraDora". If not, then I kind of need some clarification here...

Ah... Had that happen a lot. I mean a heck of a lot. One example that comes to mind: I thought of my own version of Kamen Rider that would use the souls of the deceased to change forms and basic powers. I even called it "Kamin Rider Ghost"... an entire YEAR before Kamen Rider's showrunners announced their own Kamen Rider Ghost. Mind you, mine obviously worked differently, but still, what are the chances of me being on the same wavelength as them like that?
(In case you're curious, I decided to change that particular "story idea"'s name to "N-Spector"... And I suspect even THAT name has been taken by now.)
However, what I meant with Bros was the "Gay stereotypes" comments. I know that someone out there will refute it by using that film as an example of how gay people aren't portrayed as "valley girls" in chick flicks. It was just one of those slightly annoying things I noticed in movies and figured that's how Brenda would subtly use as a jumping board to... ehem, "critique" Roger's approach.
Edit: In case it's not obvious.... They're not actually talking about movies here.

Well, mine wasn’t that specific. Was just watching Elsa thaw things and thought, “could we have someone who doesn’t have to stop at room temperature?”
As it is, I don’t watch chick flicks or RomComs, so I can’t speak to the prevalence of that stereotype in them, though I have my own pet peeves over certain gay-related tropes.
I’m guessing Brenda is kind of the “perfect girl.”

For me, the main one is the aforementioned "valley girl" personality that they tend to slap on every gay man. Can't like things that are traditionally feminine without being gay... The stereotype has changed since then, but not exactly for the better. That or they stopped being so blatant about it as often.
Well, we all believe ourselves to be the heroes of our own stories. Roger is saying she's thinks she's the main love interest, but she's actually the woman that the guy is usually dating before he meets the MC. That whole trope.

Yes, I've seen the feminine = gay thing come up in a few things.
One that sort of irks me, which I've run into in sitcoms, is this notion that a character (more often a man) who shows little interest or has little success in dating the opposite sex is gay. Like, the idea that someone might be asexual doesn't occur to them. Not an outrage, just kind of annoying.
Though, admittedly, unlike making a character gay, I don't know how you'd show a character to be asexual without going against the whole "show, don't tell" rule.

Awe, as someone who is asexual I kind of appreciate that the first thing you thought of was "being asexual didn't occur to them" as opposed to how I'd think.... Maybe they just suck at dating in general. Although it does sound like I'm saying that thing that annoys many gay people, ehem, "You just having found the right boy/girl yet" which, admittedly can be a factor too for people who are straight.
The "show, don't tell" rule is more of a guide, not a law. I mean, there is no way to tell that someone isn't interested in anybody (at least not easily). Heck, some people don't know this, but Archie Comic's Jughead (before that Riverdale Drama wearing it's skin... Bleh) had such a love of food that one could say that he was essentially Asexual. Not interested in guys or gals, just food....
But then I'd remember the people who have unnatural attraction to inanimate objects... like that guy who dated his car.... So yeah... Hard to show, without outright telling.
Little (not so much of a) secret, there was a point where I considered whether or not I might be gay. My brother doesn't know this, but if he hadn't come out when he did, I would have walked into a gay bar to find out. There must be somebody up there looking out for me, I guess.

Well, it came to mind because I’m asexual, or at least “gray asexual.”
But, yeah, they usually end up going with the “sucks at dating” angle because, well, that trope comes up most in sitcoms.
But, yeah. I figure it’s a matter of whether the character is asexual or if the writers just never bothered to write a love interest. Though it’s not necessary to have one. One thing I liked about Zootopia was that things stayed platonic between Nick and Judy.
I think a lot of us have had an “am I gay?” moment, though I never really thought about trying it out.

And then came the fanart.... My point being that if the writer doesn't do it, the fans will. Even people who aren't fans will do it. They do it to everybody and every thing.
