Either way, Mat is my country boy character, incredibly rare in a cyberpunk universe. He was raised in quite the bizarre landscape, his home and acres of fields surrounded by a towering, skyscraper-filled city from the west, and a wasteland full of abandoned factories and warehouses from the east. It was much like a place frozen in time. Exploring the tech warehouses as a teen eventually led him to become an IT tech and coder, but he visits his family whenever possible; he'll always hold the countryside dear.
He's an incredibly likeable guy, if a little bit too agreeable sometimes. He never quite learnt to stand up for himself since he never had many opportunities to interact with anthros his age.
