I was waiting really long to finally be able to play the new Dracthyr races. I fell in love with them so quickly I had to get something to represent them
A quick find of some custom made gloves later I hyped to try them on! Fate or maybe the aspects themselves needed a new Dracthyr for the world! I will make sure to not dissapoint in the new role!
I love the Dracthyr so much, they really are what I needed to bring me back into WoW!
I hope you like it! ^w^

I also wanted to play with the new race. In my case, my main character is an appladin tanke and I like to play him as a secondary role as a healer.
As a "healing" paladin, I had quite a few skills and resources to heal or use light "signals" on the main healing "targets" and a decent group heal (although not really much), very good emergency heal, delayed heal and healing at the cost of one's life, etc, etc
as drachthyr...Well, it doesn't have many "heals" as such, well, at least in the half-hybrid talents I chose (it didn't go full on the "tree" of "green" spells, for now).
It has quite interesting options, it has abilities that convert part of the damage dealt into healing, some damage "mitigation" options, reset and skill repetition (repeat the "follow" 3 spells), area healing, an ability to "empower" the next ability, convert some of the "damage taken" to "damage over time", etc, etc.
Even with those... I think it needs more "healing" (my "build", I still have to learn or see more combinations).
Apart from that, it is a race that I like a lot and that interests me, and its flight mechanics seemed quite fun to me and in the character creation it has a lot of content to customize.
And in graphics and animations it also looks very good apart... from the fact that they are practically humanoid dragons, which is already attractive, even if they are not real dragons for the players.

It has quite a lot of survivability as a DPS, as you say :3
I used it a bit as DPS and, used well it's a bomber (I mean, with his movement ability you can also use his channel abilities and mostly his instant abilities).
Except for the flare/breath (either the fire one or the green one as a healer or the arcane projectiles as dps) which has to stay still. But for the other abilities, with his own basic healing (the racial one) and his mobility, he has a lot of survivability.
If we add his "rescue" ability (go to an ally and take them away or, in pvp, enemy), it is also quite fun.

I agree...I was hyped for dragonflight when I saw the dracthyr...wow have redeemed themselves after the pigs ear that was shadowlands.
I love their gliding...the story behind them and the fact that, in a PVE role, they hit like a semi-truck covered in C-4 thats also coated in angry robot bee's. They have dethroned my death knight as my favourite character type.
