Tis is the head for a suit I'm trying to make, it's not done but i'd like to take the time between buying materials to see if anyone has any critiques. I think the head is too small... I don't know what to do about that.

I'm working on a second suit after my rat, a possum; and this helps me to think that I might make the head of foam this time, but with my own twist to it. My rat head is made of plastic mesh, and is light and breathable, but is not soft and is starting to break in a few places. If I make it of foam, I'll design ways into it to vent air out. Good job on the detail! :) As to your question of whether it's too small, I guess that depends on the length of the fur (though I've now seen later pictures of your head finished), as generally too small is probably better than too large, unless you're moving in a toony direction. If you think of the scale for fursuits as Real - Anthro - Toony, my rat and my possum lean to the real/anthro end, as does it looks your Mink. I think you finished it well too. ^^ I have the body and tailbase done on my possum, and I'm 3/4th done on the tail, with the head and the paws to go.
Oh gosh! Hey! Yeah, this is old now but thank you. As for foam construction I have some tips that may help now that I'd incorporate if I ever make another. The foam is great, I make mine entirely from foam and cloth and the whole head is washable, that's a a great plus, it's also nearly indestructible to crushing. As for ventilation, my mouth is a moving jaw type so I do have some limitations there, a good thing to keep in mind is to make as much room for your nose as you can. at least for me anything pressing on my nose seems to shorten my fursuiting time significantly. I have a nice pocket right in the nose area to keep breathing clear. A good thing I may try for my next time is ear hole vents! You can hide the openings in the ear holes of the suit by covering with fur. I tried it on mine but the holes were too small.I was thinking a wide channel carved across the top of the head connecting he two ear vents might work quite well for air flow. My heads are skin tight to help with jaw movement but i you want a static jaw you'll have more freedom for vents. Gosh it's fun to share fursuit tips, if you have anything else just ask!
