Those long arms look so niiiice!
Jeez, I like how the picture is more than "background and foreground" it's just... all together if that makes any sense at all.
And woah man I love how you draw Freddy, he's very recognisable. Michael, too, but I've only ever seen NoES and don't know aaaaaas much about Michael.

Ahh such a huge compliment thank you VERY much!! And I'm glad Freddy was still recognizable!! He's wearing the most rad coveralls ever that Michael gave him~. Michael is amazing he'd definitely be worth watching his movies!! My favorites are H20, Halloween 6, and Halloween 2. The first is also a delicious good one, too though and I love how young he looks in it and how that movie on its own can "stand alone" without all his backstory.
It depends on the picture layer wise! Sometimes I have like 30 layers and other times I just have about 2 or 3 layers. Sometimes I pop a free texture on it and play with the settings for it and other times I make my "own" texture by fiddling with the brushes and the screen, addition, overlay, and multiply options. This one was a bit of both, the really obvious texture was taken from dA and then the rest was me messing around with it. Everything is done in Sai but occasionally I add certain things afterwords in MS Paint.

http://www.furaffinity.net/full/4844650/ This one the one on the left has a texture that is really faint (the opacity for it was wicked low) but on the right I didn't use the texture so that would be a comparison sorta...plus blue++++. Also after I added silly MS Paint stuffs.
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4880997 And this I only did in like 20 to 30 minutes really quickly and is just a sketch layer (that I hid after), a lineart layer, and a colour layer and then finally a texture because it was lacking oomph. But yeah that's kinda like my bare minimum example.
HOPE THIS ANSWERS YOUR QUESTION! There's not always too much layers, I just tend to use a lot of colour (especially on blood).
Oh and I usually use the binary tool for line/colour but sometimes use the pen tool. It's pretty obvious to tell when I'm using what.
