I will not be able to withdraw any funds from Patreon after December 8 until we move out of the country. The last payment provider that still worked in Russia is now closing down, probably due to a new law banning electronic wallets or their bank suspending operations here. It never gets easier for us.
I will still be very active on Patreon, it’s that I’ll need to rely on commissions for income until we get our paperwork sorted out and escape the country. You're not the first i've heard with this issue. Another person has said that there's a way to receive money for commissions through Telegram. https://d.furaffinity.net/art/-paul.....%B9%D0%B43.jpg they claim it works. Hopefully telegram will be able to fill the hole of electronic payments until you can get patreon and paypal back.
I don't really know wtf is going through their heads with all this. Well, they've been tightening the grip for a long while now. A few years ago they've passed a law about e-wallets that resulted in Steam no longer allowing you to top up your account balance! Like you could still buy games but only if you've already had a balance or paying with a card.
My speculation is the opposition was using anonymous wallets and they've been cracking down on that. Official reason is "terrorism" and "crime prevention" but you know it's not the case lmao.
I mean if they wanted to track and tax people... good job, there's nothing to tax now.
