APPEARANCE
Appearance & reputation: He has a masculine, calm, assertive, gentle, neat, and polite appearance but still with a kind of 'don't mess with me'- look, which causes deep respect by other siderians.
His reputation is quite complicated and varies in time. By those who oppose him; he’s seen as a trouble maker, a dreaded murderer – by those who are with him, he’s seen as an inspiring freedom fighter and trusted General.
Shoulder height: 1,74 meters – which is very tall for a siderian. Males are on average 1.60 m
Physical description
Body: Very heavy, stocky and robust skeleton and a typical tiger-like ‘frame’. He is pretty lean and bony, which makes his skeleton look a little too big for his skin. Very heavy, sturdy limbs and big joints (which makes him appear rather short-legged compared to other siderians). Heavy, muscular front legs and gigantic shoulder blades. His hindlegs and narrow, bony butt look nearly pathetic compared to his heavy front quarters. Very large and bony paws with strong big black claws. His chest is rather shallow and narrow which gives him little stamina. Also his pelvis is very narrow and small; it looks nearly merged with the rest of his back. Straight, slightly convex back with one deformed lumbar vertebra (see story). Average-to long, strong and rather thick tail. His gait is powerful and heavy with big steps and an ‘outward’ swing of his front legs - quite like a bear. He has most weight on his front quarters.
Head: Quite a big head, but in proportion with the rest of his stocky body. Roman profile with a very little dip in the middle. Rather narrow, triangle shaped muzzle. Skull is wide (especially the zygomatic arches) and relatively flat on top. Heavy, pronounced cheekbones. Jaw muscles (masseter and temporalis) are not so well developed which gives him a bit of a skinny face. His angular eyes are high placed and the edge is very dark pigmented, which gives him a ghostly look, which contrasts strongly with his light, pale green-yellow eyes. An obvious downwards angle at the lateral sides of eyes (which you can see in some oriental cats). The low ‘eyebrows’ give him a typical dark 'poker-face'. His ears are large and pointing forwards and lateral ('airplane-ears'), placed high on his head. Kink in the middle with the ear tips folding slightly backwards and upwards.
Fur: white with dark (black) pigmented skin. His fur is rather thin and soft with the long hairs lying so close to the body that he looks nearly short-haired. Long and fine hair on his neck and more full, thicker fur on his throat and chest, that points to the sides. Ridge of standing hair between the shoulder-blades and both sides of the jaws. Soft and long tufts of hair on the chin (goatee), elbows, backside of the wrists and heels. little bit fuzzy hair near the base of his ears and pointy tuft of hair in front his ears. Obviously a very full, long haired tail with two ‘rows’/’layers’ of hair, one shorter on the top and one longer underneath.
Jewelry & accessories: Metal necklace with inverted pentagram, surrounded by vertebrae (this is the oldest relic of the Sætansen dynasty). Metal chain bracelet and spikey backbone bracelet.
PERSONALITY & CHARACTER
Personality and mannerisms
MBTI personality type: INTJ -A (mastermind/strategist/architect)
Solitary, stoic and stubborn, independent and therefore asocial -he never accepts help and he hates showing (his) weakness. He does not want to rely on others and does not want others relying on him. He avoids making deals with others and prefers to solve problems himself. He never (or rarely) lies but he is selective with what he tells (and that is not much). He's clean, well-organized and thorough in everything he does.
Proud, with a big ego.
He can be blunt due to a his strongly reduced (or even absent) sense of empathy. He demands respect from other males, and if given; he returns it with his politeness (yes, he is actually quite a gentleman). Towards other males, he has a huge bubble of personal space and if that is disrespected he shows his deathglare as a warning. If someone continues to seriously bother him, he hits like lighting with his big paws, after which he continues with his own business as if nothing had happened. However, he is actually highly tolerant and not easily bothered and just avoids social situations as a whole. But if needed, he doesn’t mind (confidently) crossing busy places with many siderians. Towards females he is very respectful and downright soft, gentle and intimate (then he suddenly has no personal space…). He is not difficult to seduce… hence his (probably) several bastard kids (of whom I know only one).
He has a very revengeful nature and he seems 'cold-hearted' because he has a reduced sense of empathy. Once someone seriously threatens him or has committed serious crimes against him or his mate/kids; he is like an avalanche and goes for the kill.
Stian is quite intelligent and manages to solve most social situations with logics and experience rather than natural ‘empathy’. He is very creative in solving any kind of problem and is highly adaptive in new situations. Although he can be a little reckless and has the tendency to get himself in trouble….He has often a certain ‘I don’t care’ attitude towards everything and yet he is not careless. Especially as it comes to his deep love and respect for the living world. Deep down, he is incredibly curious and eager to learn more about just life in general; he is a wanderer at heart. Seeing humans destroy so many other living beings hurts him and he cannot tolerate this crime against life. Also due to personal negative experiences with humans, he had grown a deep, deep hatred against them and suffered from some post-traumatic -stress disorder due to them. However, he strictly hides his mental- and physical scars from others. He is a fighter who never gives up and he carried that burden during his entire life. Fortunately he could still enjoy the beauty of life when he hangs around in the nature or when he is with his mate and kids.
Type of humor: captain-obvious like humor where you don’t expect it
Voice, manner of speaking
Low, ‘raw’, harsh and heavy voice with scary 'evil' undertone as if he has swallowed a pinecone. Deep, nearly ‘trembling’ sound that comes from his throat. He rarely talks but if he does, he talks formal, neat, scientific and straight to the point with as few words as possible. Sometimes, he comes across a bit ambiguous for other siderians. He has no feeling for subtle communication and can sound blunt. After meeting Vivanna he becomes a bit more 'open' and little more talkative towards friends/family.
Voice references:
- Best voiceref – Dimmu Borgir - Endings and continuations -between 2.27-2.31…only one sentence: “energies eternal, forever to last” – the rest of the song sounds more like his grandpaw Matthias.

-Dimmu Borgir - Kings of the Carnival Creation LIVE
The first sentence “left are the kings of the carnival creation carrying out the echoes of evil” and the same sentence (between 7.14 – 7.22. For the rest, you can hear the same low voice sometimes in the song.
Sexuality: heterosexual and quite polygamous, especially before he met his permanent mate.
Spirituality and philosophy: His philosophy is to genuinely respect Life and oneself. He has the ‘save yourself’ and ‘mind your own business’ attitude. He doesn’t care and yet is not careless. He feels the great connectivity between Life-forms. His soul is very young so he has not seen many other words than the world in which he was born – but deep down, he knows what is beyond. He feels a strong connection to his ancestral roots and his family’s spirituality but he doesn’t give this much thought or attention. He is down to Earth likes to be one with the forces of Nature. His most important value is freedom in every sense of the word.

His theme songs
Dimmu Borgir – Fear and Wonder
Dimmu Borgir – Gateways
Dimmu Borgir – Perfection or Vanity
Fears: he deeply fears humans, especially with guns when he has no armor. As most living beings, he fears death. Another big fear is becoming weak and having to depend on others to survive. in general, binding himself to others in which there are things expected of him and vice versa. He also deeply fears losing consciousness and others taking control over him.
Dreams: a world completely free of humans; and a life in which he is free without his mental and physical scars. A life in which he can wander and explore the beauty of Life.
Interest, hobbies, occupation:
Stian has a very strong interest in Life and all living beings, but his strongest passion is for birds. He really loves birds and often thinks of his alter ego as a golden eagle. He is very interested in biodiversity and the complicated interaction between different life-forms. He likes to wander (without having to worry about a territory; he would have been a nomad) and follow his curiosity. Beside just biology, he has a side interest in art, mainly music and he is quite into a sort of siderian equivalent of black metal.
He also has a strong fascination for some natural phenomena like the Auroras.
Another interest of his, is actually swimming. He loves water….
In his early twenties, his attention got drawn to humans and he began studying them intensely. He devoted his entire life to studying them and the harm they do to other living beings. That drove him to start up a fighting group of siderians, to defend his homeland against invading humans. This becomes a big group called the Fjordland Force, of which he was the General until his very last day.
Special skills:
Very quick reactions and reflexes in fights and very flexible movements, despite his rather sturdy skeleton. His nearly OCD like organization and precision brings him also very far. Jokingly, I could say that he has the talent to get himself in trouble, but also survive it.
STORY - WARNING-SPOILERS FOR THE NOVEL(S) THAT I MIGHT ONCE WRITE ABOUT HIM - the post on DA has links in the text (in brackets); unfortunately I haven't updated those links as I posted this on FA.
Born in grief
Stian was born in a time of grief. His mother (Mara) had just lost her daughter; the sister (Stígana) whom Stian never got to know. He was an afterthought and only had the company of his nine years older brother and his mother. His father (Morten) was rarely present and often busy with other things. He quickly learned to walk and with his quiet, calm personality, his parents trusted him and let him explore on his own; although often under the silent supervision of his elder brother Goran. His first years were relatively calm and he quickly developed a bold curiosity and interest in the world around him, particularly birds and the northern lights.
Bold curiosity
At an age of 3-4, unfamiliar other family members arrived and they brought his cousins along. It matched well with his similar aged cousin Yava. She was quiet and calm like him and they often just explored together. At this age, Stian was brought to the learning ground in MistFjord (a place where siderians bring cubs, a sort of free ‘school’ where they can play with other cubs and learn from adults). There, he was stalked by a little sideress of his age(Binna), who seemed to be the sister of an older cub, named Bjørn who had targeted Stian to bully. Bjørn belonged to a rivalling family, who opposed the Sætansens, particularly Stian’s grandfather. Stian ignored both Binna’s strange interest in him and Bjørns attempts to bully. Only when Bjørn and his friends tried to throw him off a cliff, things got serious. Fortunately, Goran stopped the bullies and taught them a lesson.
At home, Stian began to notice that his parents held things away. Things concerning some invisible threat, but he felt it present and it made him boldly curious. Yava wasn’t so interested in finding out what this was about, so he went on alone. It was only his strange, mysterious grandfather (Matthias) who showed him in a very creepy way, what these threats were about; humans. He warned Stian to be very careful and to stay away from them, but it only made Stian more curious. Given the fact that his parents often left him alone, he had all the possibilities to explore these things on his own.
Traumatized for life
When he was between 7-8 years old he was wandering around MistFjord on his own, followed by Binna, whom he mostly ignored. He come over some human tracks and followed them, without paying much attention to where they led him. He was absorbed by curiosity when, suddenly, gigantic dogs appeared from nowhere. Frightened, he tried to run away but was quickly taken over by the dogs. He fought as fiercely as he could but exhaustion kicked in quickly. A net was thrown over his head and his paws were tied down. They threw him and Binna onto a snow mobile and brought them to a dark room in a human place (a basement) where they were chained down. Binna was badly injured and he watched how the humans brutally killed her and flayed her in front of him. The humans constantly hit him, shouted at him and let the dogs turn on him. He had no grip on time anymore; all he saw was this dark room that smelled of blood and despair. All he could do was to fight, no matter how many dogs there were against him or humans hitting him. The dogs were massive and he was constantly on the brink of exhaustion. Once he had the lead in a fight and was about to kill one of the dogs. Suddenly a loud bang sounded, followed by immense pain in his hindleg and shouting humans all around him. He was pulled in all directions but he did not let go of the dog whom he held tightly with his claws, until more painful hits broke him. Once the situation had calmed down, they left him bleeding, in terrible pain. As time passed, he felt all hope to escape disappear. Still, fighting was the only option he saw. In a moment of quiescence, he tried to sleep until he was suddenly disturbed by something that didn’t sound like humans. Against all his expectations, it was his own father. Never had he been so immensely relieved to see him. Morten broke the chains but his arrival had awakened the humans. Chaos broke out, but Morten was armored (and well equipped) and in a few quick moves he killed anyone coming near Stian. Stian could hardly walk and Morten carried him all the way to MistFjord, where he got help from a healer.
Never the same
When he came home, it took him a long time to recover from this; both mentally and physically. He had become distant and silent to everybody, even Yava. He was building walls and the more he processed this, the more a deep hatred was beginning to grow. Over the years, he got closer to Yava again but he didn’t tell her much about what happened and the hatred he was developing silently. Sneakily, he began to observe humans again and saw what they were capable of and how they treated other living beings as garbage. Incidents were still rare, but somehow more cubs had disappeared and some adult siderians got shot. Stian learned that his grandfather also knew lot about humans and he paid him regular visits, behind the backs of the other family members.
In MistFjord, the bullying got worse, especially after the death of Binna, for which Stian was blamed. Bjørn wanted revenge for the death of his sister and had even more reason to target Stian. But Stian was growing stronger and taller than Bjørn and over the years, he was developing a plan to strike back. He could combine this with actions against humans. All Stian had in mind was revenge for the wrong done against him, his species and against life in general. His observations of the humans’ behavior strengthened his hatred further and he saw how dangerous and respectless they were. Despite his secret plans, he still had regular contact with Yava, who meant a lot to him, but he felt that he had to distance himself from her in order to execute his plans.
Sudden leave
In his early twenties, he saw a chance; Bjørn was alone. He took him by surprise and killed him. But Bjørn’s friends were rarely far and he had to run away as fast as he could. He got the armor that he made together with his grandfather and left his homeland far behind. He wandered northwards, where he would begin with his silent plans alone. In a blizzardy winter night, he attacked the most northern modern human village. He burned houses, took down electricity poles and killed all humans on his way. Then he moved on and did the same in other villages. He only visited metaclusters to fix and improve his armor but tried to stay as disguised as possible. He was aware of the fact that these attacks might cause resistance among siderians. But he felt that he did the right thing; he took revenge on the species that had traumatized him and that was destroying life and his own kind. After every attack, he quickly moved on. He traveled further south, to the Lowlands (west Europe) where he saw with his own eyes how dire the situation was. Human cities were everywhere. Many siderians were driven off their lands. He heard stories of humans live-capturing siderians and many got killed for their fur and body parts. Even entire metaclusters were on the brink of disappearance. Stian couldn’t do much more than studying the effects and kill human hunting groups. Meanwhile, also worked on more efficient attack strategies to target human resources in a more disguised way. When he travelled eastwards, the villages got smaller and were easier to attack and burn. However, sometimes the despair crept on to him. He couldn’t fight this alone. This was madness, but he went on. Something pushed him forwards. He simply couldn’t tolerate this sickening crime against him and his kind.
Trust betrayed
After a failed attack on a bigger city in which he nearly got himself killed, he felt forced to step off his principles. He had to collaborate and trust someone else. He found another siderian guy who was genuinely interested and motivated to fight with him. However, when they were to meet near some ecals, the guy didn’t come. Stian became skeptical and regretted not having brought his armor. Suddenly the sound of a gunshot crached through the air and a bullet hit his back. In a reflex, he jumped away towards a cliff and dived down, hitting several rocks. His lumbar vertebra was partly broken and he couldn’t move his hindlegs and tail anymore. He dragged himself to safety to recover. Over time, he lost so much weight that he had become a walking skeleton, but the coordination came back and he could walk again and do some fishing. Once he had regained his strength, he was determine to find out what had happened. It was treason, he figured. He went after the traitor and killed him. Then he moved on.
Evidence for a global problem
He dramatically changed his strategy and was going to use much heavier ecals. He no longer took his armor off, only when sleeping. But the nagging despair remained. He began to publish his findings on Intellithos (a siderian equivalent of internet) and realized again that he couldn’t fight an entire species alone. When he travelled to the Sabertooth Mountains (the Himalayas), he got even more desperate. Human villages were smaller and yet they had the power to abuse siderians and other living beings. Stian felt like he was fighting against the world alone. He tried to talk to some siderians there, but many seemed even too scared to stand and fight. When he moved on to the Flaming Mountains (Kamchatka), he got more hope. The siderians there had the humans in check and there was no human-caused death among siderians. He talked to many siderians there, who shared his opinion. He learned a lot from them and began to publish more of his findings. He decided to move on to the world’s biggest siderian metacluster; Mistery Mountain (in the Alaskan Rocky mountains) and present his findings there. The fact that the human invasion was a global problem for siderians, didn’t sink there. Many siderians there seemed ignorant, despite his evidence. Frustrated, he travelled further south east to investigate other conflict areas.
Once again in human hands.
He had tried a few cryptic attacks but stayed away from human settlements, especially in winter. Usually he rested in remote areas, high in the mountains where he thought to be out of human-reach. Once he took his day-time rest, far above the tree-line, a helicopter suddenly overwhelmed him. It was onto him before he could even grab his armor. He nearly ran himself to death but couldn’t outrun the flying monster any longer. This was it. His end. He had hardly noticed that he was hit by something and slowly he felt himself weakening and collapsing. Desperate of fear he tried to fight against it and not pass out. As the massive thing landed in front of him, and humans approached him -he tried to crawl away and fight. But after they shot him again, he passed out. When he woke up; intense panic struck him at once. He was inside a dark cage so small that he could hardly move and there humans everywhere. Wild of fear he tried to break out but the humans kept sticking him with things that weakened him. Everything happened in a swirl of chaos, with human noise, human smells and human silhouettes around him. Eventually, he was let out in bigger enclosure. Fear drove him mad of aggression but he quickly collapsed of exhaustion. Once the humans were gone, he tried to collect himself and think straight, to find a way out. But there wasn’t. As time passed, humans regularly shot him with darts that made him pass out. Afterwards, he smelled them everywhere over his body. He felt invaded by them and disgusted by their touch. They kept moving him to different enclosures, exposed him to strange stimuli and just drove him more desperate. Once, he managed to break through the sedation. In a blur, he got hold of a human. In the same moment there was noise, an intense pain in his flank, chaos and shouting humans. He let go of his grip and quickly passed out again. Eventually, he woke up in a smaller enclosure, covered by a blanket and with stitches in his flank. He felt sick and in pain. Humans kept staring at him from the other side of the fences and made him nervous. As he recalled the event, he remembered a human jumping in front of him, after the sudden pain had hit him. As if she prevented further escalation. It puzzled him but somehow he felt motivated to eat something again, finally. Through the fences he had spoken to two other siderians there. One of them was a big male named Toro, who seemed interested in Stian’s anti-human activities. After maybe months, Stian was released with a big thing around his neck. He was surprised the humans had even given all his belongings back. Stian didn’t know what this thing around his neck was, but he had to get it off. He felt so humiliated that he didn’t even go to a siderian metacluster to get help. He spend all his time to find a way to get it off and eventually managed.
Old familiars
After this, he went back to Mystery Mountain. He realized that he had travelled around for 17 years now, and had collected a lot of evidence, but he needed to change his strategy. He had to make other siderians aware of the severity of the problem. He was surprised to meet Toro again there; apparently humans had released him too. Toro was determined to support Stian, but Stian was skeptical and threatened him with death if he was to betray him. Toro proved himself to be truly loyal.
Stian was taken even more by surprise when, suddenly an old familiar approached him from behind, when he was drinking from a little lake. It was Yava, his cousin. Stunned in disbelief and lost in his own thoughts, he only reacted coldly and walked away. Later she caught him again and they talked. He felt like a wall of ice and hatred was coming down now he met Yava again. She told him that his brother Goran was here too because they were worried about him. That surprised Stian and it even pissed him off; as if his big brother needed to care for him. The meeting between him and his brother was tense, if not violent, but Goran told Stian that he had been following him everywhere and that Stian needed to change his strategy. He was pissed off by Goran’s doubts about his independence, but eventually agreed. He arranged a meeting and tried to convince other siderians to do something about the human-invasion and begin a fighting group. He didn’t have the success he anticipated for and only a few siderians joined. While he stayed in Mystery Mountain, he had gotten a crush on a brown sideress named Vivanna. The love was intense from the start. Also Yava and Goran had found someone and together with a few other siderians, they decided to travel back to the Fjordlands (Norway).
The Fjordland Force came to be
The reunion with his old family was tense; his father was not pleased with Stian’s sudden leave and the trouble that the murder of Bjørn had caused with the rivalling family. However, with the severity of the human-problem, he quickly got support of his family, particularly his grandfather. They researched and scouted for him and gathered other siderians. This was also the time that Stian and Vivanna’s daughter Ekster was born (Stian was 38 now).
The area around the Sætansen lands and Mistfjord was dangerous and humans were shooting siderians regularly. Stian decided to move North, towards safer grounds near the metacluster called the Carnassial, to establish the Fjordland Force’s headquarter and find a new territory for his family. One of the first attacks on a small modern human village was successful. But Stian had underestimated the safety and got shot on his own land while he was hunting. Playing dead saved his life, but the bullet had gone through his right shoulder blade and he could hardly walk for weeks. Vivanna’s healer skills brought him back to function again. Shortly after this accident, his son Jay was born.
Intense battles
Stian intensified the missions and the Fjordland Force was growing rapidly in numbers. Many siderians from the Lowlands, who were driven off their lands, had come to the Fjordlands to fight for their right to live. Stian had now become the General of a rather large siderian army but he found the task difficult. He constantly had to push his dreams for solitary life as a wanderer away and he had to work together with other siderians. He was involved in all activities, did most of the planning and worked himself constantly to the edge of exhaustion. In his times alone, he wondered what the point of this all was. But an intense force inside him pushed him forwards, every time. The missions were increasingly successful but he had to divide his time between leading the Force and being there for his family. His third daughter was born and he had to lower the activity level a bit, not to collapse of mental- and physical exhaustion.
After a calmer time with his family, he picked up the missions again. He was used to seeing death and suffering during these battles and had the principle of “those who fall behind, are left behind”. That was something his brother didn’t agree with and Goran had established the Fjordland Force’s equivalent of Red Cross. However, when Stian’s own father (Morten) got badly injured during a mission, he left his principles behind and returned to save him. Morten survived but never fully recovered. A few years passed and his father wasn’t doing well. He got attacked by a deadly disease and matter what the healers did, he was beyond saving. Morten died shortly before Stian’s fourth son was born. They named him Morthian.
A dangerous side-trip
When Stian was around fifty years old, he gathered the Force around his native lands, near the metacluster MistFjord. The human settlement there had been expanding so rapidly, that it was threatening the ancient Sætansen lands on which he was born. They scouted and tried some small things, but discovered that they had not enough resources. Stian travelled with a small subdivision to the biggest Eurasian metacluster named Notochord (located in the Urals), to meet its cluster-coordinator Ferrus. Ferrus was also taking radical actions against invading humans there, and Stian saw a potential ally in him. That was a mistake. Ferrus was not willing to collaborate and Stian learned that Ferrus had actually abused many siderians as well. When Ferrus tried to get hold on Stian’s mate; Stian lost it and attacked Ferrus. After a heavy battle in which Stian was at the losing side, he miraculously managed to deliver a deadly blow and killed Ferrus. Exhausted and disappointed by this failed expedition, he went back and thought of other strategies to defend MistFjord and attack the human settlement nearby.
MistFjord under attack
Just when he got back, humans launched an attack on MistFjord. If it wasn’t for the genius actions of his grandfather, they could not have stood ground. But the situation was still dangerous; especially when the Fjordland Force had gathered. They spread out and worked strictly concealed from humans, but it couldn’t prevent the incident in which Goran got shot in an attempt to protect his mate and friend form hunting humans. No vital organs were hit and he recovered quickly, but it was only the start of more trouble. His grandfather Matthias was getting very old but reluctant to step back. He wanted to join all missions but was slowing them down but nobody dared to oppose the crazy professor. One day, Matthias forgot his armor and got shot by humans lurking around, just outside of the patrolled areas. Goran was in time to save him, but Matthias was too old and even after desperate attempts from the healers to patch him up, he passed away a few days later. That was a great loss for the Fjordland Force and only now, Stian realized how much of the thinking- and planning work was done by his genius grandfather. Now he had the feeling that he had to do it all alone and that all the weight was on his shoulders. He retreated the Force for a while to restructure the plans.
Looking death in the eyes
He kept himself involved in some baseline scouting and planning activities but wanted to focus more on his family again. His oldest daughter had a cub now and that gave Stian a good reason to take a step back and rest. Some of the missions continued and he lead a few successful attacks, which gave him a burst of motivation again. After a few years, he gathered the Force again and had he had a new plan ready. They attacked the human settlement near MistFjord again; this time with success and the remaining humans finally retreated. They went further south and successfully attacked a few other human settlements, thereby winning more ground. Finally, siderians were gaining their lands back. Now it was only the biggest human settlement in the Fjordlands and Lakelands left. It was going to be a risky mission that would safeguard the siderian land, hopefully for good. During that mission, many siderians lost their lives. One of them was Stian’s third born daughter, Siri and her mate. She was the most ferocious of his cubs and always fought bravely at his side in the vanguard. Now, she left her newborn daughter behind in the care of Stian and Vivanna.
The mission succeeded, which gave Stian time to process this loss. In the year after, he continued with a few scouting missions to keep control of the situation. One turned out to be nearly deadly for him. Completely unexpected he bumped into small-game hunting humans. With only light armor, he went for the frontal attack but got shot by dozens of pellets that penetrated his armor. Heavily bleeding from his throat and chest, he ran back to his headquarter and tried to stop the bleeding. Weak as he felt, and fearing for his life, he lashed out at anyone near him, afraid that they might control him. Even his mate was to stay away. Blood was still running down from his throat and neck and he was starting to pass out. Goran had come and tried to control him. He fought against his brother’s grip but Goran had both of his paws under control so that Yava (his cousin; a healer) could bring him under sedation. When he woke up, he felt betrayed by those who should have known one of his biggest fear; to lose control and consciousness. Months passed by before he got over this and accepted them close again.
A touch of happiness
This time of recovery also marked the start of a calmer period. Siderians had won more ground and Stian could finally enjoy some time with his family. He was around 73 when his youngest son’s daughter (Rose) was born. She had something special and her gentle eyes warmed his heart. Finally he could enjoy what he had been fighting for- and suffering for during his entire life. These were one of the happiest years in his life and he spend a lot of time watching birds and wandering the mountains under the northern lights with his children and grandchildren. Every time when he returned to his territory, little Rose was waiting for him. She adored him more than any of his other grandchildren had ever done.
One mistake
However, this battle would never end entirely. Cleared areas had to be checked regularly and returning humans had to be stopped before they could invade the siderian lands again. Stian hadn’t launched any big attacks but was still executing some smaller scouting missions. When he was 79, he was to investigate the ruins of the first human settlement that he had ever attacked. It was relatively close to his northern homeland and had he had to check regularly if it was still safe. He went out with a smaller group, including his brother Goran and daughter Ekster. They split up and each one investigated a separate area. None of them expected any humans and since silence was preferred, they wore only light armor.
Out of nowhere, several humans appeared with rifles. Stian had so his strategies to deal with these surprises and got a plan in motion. Through the ruins of on an old industrial area, he wanted to gather the others. One jump over a big hole in broken reinforced concrete turned the odds against him. The gap was too big and he didn’t make it. He fell down and his armor got hopelessly stuck in the thick iron bars. He heard the humans approach and saw only one way out- he had to free himself from his armor. Open and exposed he tried to run to safety. One bullet hit his hindleg but he continued and slaughtered a human in front of him before they could shoot him. Another shot through his arm threw him off his balance and panic began to take him over. There were several humans with rifles running towards him. He managed to kill another but in the moment that he got his claws on a third, another bullet hit his spine. He fell over and his hindlegs collapsed. He dragged himself towards the wounded humans and finished them while a fourth bullet hit him in the flank. Wild of panic, pain and rage he tried to get hold on another escaping human. As he delivered a final blow with his bloody paws, a bullet hit his chest from the other side and he collapsed. Gasping for air and coughing up blood, he laid still. He knew that it was over. Human footsteps approached him from behind and went around him. With all his remaining strength, he lifted his head. With intense hatred in his eyes, he stared at the human with the rifle pointed at him. One final shot through his heart blackened his vision and slowly, he laid his head down in his own blood.
With this death, he marked the end of an era as the mighty Fjordland Force General.
This was the fall of a living legend…
