Ani is my secret alt Fursona

I only recently played ff7 for the first time. I was too poor when it originally came out and by the time I was old enough to do something about it, it cost hundreds of dollars. But Nanaki was a character I didn't expect to hit me the way it did. I was honestly expecting a hate crime given the racist way fandom likes to depict him, but he instead ended being one of those characters that hit me in the right place at the right time. His depiction and Cosmo Canyon had enough familiar to fill in the blanks with what felt right with the help of abstraction despite being very route 66 native. Now I am the #1 nanaki defender and here to say he is the best rez dog on the planet.

Ani is kinda an exercise to make a member of Nanaki's species that feels more authentic to me. The tattoo and jewelry designs you see are from my nation if slightly tweeked. He's name is a Tsalagi word meaning strawberry. I tried to tap into the cold war era military fashion filtered through native biker culture to make his outfit. Despite looking like a no-good punk and fighting with grieves and kicks he would actually best be described as a white/green mage. Nothin' but heals and status effects. Though I think his weapons (classified as boots) probably have status effects attached to them like FF knives usually do). Low damage, high speed, sometimes crits. Honestly he's just a good boy that tries to hard and doesn't want to feel disposable. If you need a healer in your party he'll do the job. Also doubles as a KH oc and that's so powerful.
