some rough little ref doodles of amalgam versions of cassia and clove, because i’ve been thinking about them a lot lately.

in amalgam, cassia and clove are secret riftclaws taking the forms of mobian pronghorns; their mother was a painted-rocks riftclaw, and their father a pronghorn. they were 7 and 1 when their mother died and their father vanished, and they were raised by the people of their village in his absence.

because both their parents are gone, they have no links to the clan– they don’t really know what they are, and just have some half-remembered stories and assumptions. both are very good at jumping from place to place using warp ring powers, but no idea that they’re utilising the extra sense riftclaws have for clawing through the fabric of reality to do it. they don’t even know how to use their claws properly.

both have the degenerative nerve disease all painted-rocks riftclaws have, but cassia’s case is very severe– not only is she subject to random bouts of paralyis, but it can affect anything from her limbs to her respiratory system. clove works as a mercenary to afford the black market drug that’s keeping her alive– because the chaos-powered tech used in mobian hospitals makes the condition worse.
with the clan moving to another world past earth and mobius merging into one planet, cassia and clove are now two of only four riftclaws in amalgam, and they have no idea that the other two even exist.
