Death's Dance for piano and orchestra (Liszt), First Half
Through my many bouts with death, none have been more difficult than this! I mean the corpse was able to get the sound of every instrument of the orchestra from death's piano! I don't even have fingers... is it even possible to win against the deceased at their own game? I mean, for all I know I might be playing against Liszt's ex-body!
Well, yesterday I received a wonderful surprise from gatogato, http://www.furaffinity.net/view/4991022/ I've also used it as the thumbnail. And it was on Christmas day too! How cool.
Now, this is Liszt's Totentanz... A very recent recording too! It's from the final rehearsal we had before the concert, recorded by some audio engineering students for practice, so the quality is tip top! I'm the fellow playing the piano. I hope you all enjoy!

A thousand thanks!
The organizer of the concert thought it would give the event an unexpected twist; I think it was a pretty cool decision! =D
Yeah, everything is going wonderfully well! I mean, most of this 'vacation' is work for me (doing this sort of stuff), but I ain't complaining. Here's hoping that yours is... stellar! (Yes, I went there. ¬¬)

Haha, this is one of the very few pieces where I'll agree with the word 'epic' as a description! I think the conductor went deaf for a minute after the cymbal crashes! =P
Ha, I can totally imagine this, you walk into the final dungeon... The entrance collapses behind your back and you're thrown against one of the most powerful nemises of the game (who is invariably your long lost sister who hates you to the core because your mother bought you the GameBoy rather than for her and so started an empire to get back at you).
Ah, this piece is evil... I bet that if someone were to use it as video game music, the players would be very happy about it! It sounds so grand because it's based off of medieval melodies. Yeah. That's the only reason.

Ohhh okay. I'm sorry- I think a long time ago you and I talked about schools you were applying to, and when you said this was recorded by sound engineering students, I thought this performance was in a school. I thought "I have never heard a school orchestra sound this professional!" Now it makes a lot more sense. ^o^
Sorry about what? The sound engineers were students and they were learning how to record an orchestra, so they got permission to use our rehearsals to make some recordings, which is awesome because now I can give them to people who couldn't come listen to us live! But nah, this is 'proper' stuff. =D
