Another artist I follow on here had this dilemma, as they noted that some "fans" of their original sona were quite disheartened to see them go from... if I recall: A Dragon to an otter.

Reading that from them in a description under their new sona's ref sheet certainly gave me somethin to think about, and get reminded of right now.
