Shinji rarely uses his swords in one-on-one combat, only using the blunt edge when he does. However, he's known to carry 2 of them. One is his short sword, better known as the Kage-Yaiba or "Shadow Sword", since not many see him draw it before it's too late.

The longer one, the no-dachi, was given to him by Miyuki. He's named it "Monohoshi Zao", or "Laundry-Drying Pole", the same name as the legendary Sasaki Kojiro's weapon. He often uses it to perform Kojiro's signature technique, the Tsubame Gaeshi, or Swallow Reveral.
