I guess my Christmas pic was a bit late this year. ^^;
I had originally wanted to draw a reindeer pic this year, but considering I drew the lovely reindeer girly for a print at MFF I felt like it might be a bit redundant for this year's Christmas pic. So I wanted to do something that was a bit more generic and a bit more just wintery as well.
So I made up this little creature. It is a gryphon if you couldn't already tell. It is part European Robin and part Squirrel. I figured that would work for a nice tiny creature hehe. ^^ So here it is out in the snow, next to the tree line and just having a brief moment to pause and look around at its surroundings.
This was a speed painting done in 60 mins not including the background, the background I slapped together really quick just so I could use this as a wallpaper on my computer. x3 I sketched out the little creature first since I often have to sketch and resketch new characters. And then coloring and painting took the hour. I did manage to record a 4 min video of the speed painting, if you'd like to take a look at that.
The video is here: http://s42.photobucket.com/albums/e.....binGryphon.mp4
Anyway, Merry Belated Christmas you guys, and I hope that the New Year brings you all some good news and new happy memories to have for years to come. <3
