it's better to say that very big auroral beasts are so big and important that their very identity is reflected all throughout the ocean, and resonates as a possibility in every soul

that can be a bit too esoteric, still, so let's say it simply,

by behaving in ways that resonate with the auroral god, consistently and consciously, you can gain powers from it

it is not an entirely conscious process on the auroral god's part, not that most people know that. most think it means following a very strict set of rules and life commands, and in return, you get cool powers. that's good enough. let's go with that.

Nirix the Inscrutable is an auroral god on the yellow gate of knowledge, whose interpretation is secrecy and control of information

worshippers of nirix are likewise inscrutable wizard assholes who don't even give their real names (and can use your real name to have power over you)

they hoard secrets, all secrets, and seek to ensure every secret they hold is held by them alone, for that grants them more power. nirix worshippers can steal secrets from you, it's said. they can touch something you own and learn what you've done with it. they can walk into a room and peel the history from its walls and learn what happened here.

the most powerful of them, as with all worshippers, are on the path to being auroral beasts, in their own way, separate from how drinkers become

the most powerful worshippers of nirix are identifiable by the geometric wing-patterns that hang behind them

unlike a drinker's auroral limbs, these are clearly-defined shapes, holding no relation to the original body

it's said they can erase distance literal and metaphorical with the light of their wings, that they can create fire and water as if they were an oceanfont, and, of course, shoot gigantic auroral beams that wipe away not only their victims' lives but the memories of them
