Two months ago we met Sonny a half-Rakshasa and the son of the evil emperor who is the BBEG of this arc.
This month we were betrayed by Sonny and sold out to the emperor, who we had to surrender to.
A betrayal orchestrated by the emperor himself with a dominate person spell, we learned too late.
A shot was promised for the emperor, but at the last moment Cammy turned to disarm Sonny instead. It was only meant to disarm, but the cursed gun fed on her dark emotions from the betrayal and rebelled.
The cursed shot nearly cost her her life.

Things have gone awry because she has second-guessed herself while using this gun twice. Cammy now has a physical reminder that here will not be a third time.
"Never again." She is heard muttering. Whether or not she means that she will never use the gun again, or that she will endeavor never to second-guess herself is yet to be seen.
