When I started this idea I used a now-defunct character creator by GeneralZoi on DeviantArt. I wanted each character to stand out on their own, whereas in the show 25 ponies might be identical in all but name or mane style. After creating the ponies I painted distinct costumes using a wide range of images to capture the exact style and feel of Victorian England.
