Trent Fox: The Mercenary is Born
Hello. Some of you may know me. Some of you may not. I don't know, I can't read your minds. My name is Trent Fox.
Listen, I'm not like everyone else. I know guys who have every day lives. Have familes of their own. I know wrestlers and I have a friend who I consider a brother who has magical powers and keeps our city safe. Oh, I also happen to be dating his sister who's magical too. Not to bad eh? Anyway, I do something a little different. Let me explain some things first...
I live in Liberty City, Metropolis. I haven't lived there for very long, just a couple of years. Many of you guys probably know the big hero in Liberty City: Jazza. Or Jennova, whatever floats your boat. He has magical powers where he can do just about anything. His sister, Jennatha, does the same thing, but she doesn't fight evil like her brother. Jennova/Jazza is an impressive fur on his own, even without his powers. He's tall, muscular with a white chest/stomach, two red paw marks, one on each pec, dark grey fur and a yellow gem on his forehead. Most guys would just run from him instead of fighting.
His sister is different. To me, she's true beauty. Jennatha was shorter than Jennova, but she had the better body and looks. (Or, so I think.) She was the same as her brother: dark grey fur, light grey hair, white chest/stomach and a red paw on her stomach. She also had a curvy body with big plumped breasts and a perfect booty. She's perfect in every way...She's also the love of my life.
We met a couple of months ago. Me and another guy named Bond was dating her at the same time. At first I was nervous. But I had a fun time with her, Bond, Fifi La Fume, Jennova and even Aurora Spencer! It was awesome. And I fell in love with Jennatha the first day I met her.
Ever since then I can't help but think about Jennatha all the time. She's smart, beautiful, caring, and loving. She's the light of my life. But...She doesn't know what I do.
Know, I'm over six feet tall, over two-hundred and forty pounds and muscular. I've trained in different styles of fighting in my life. If you can name it, I probably do it. But, I have some crap job were I'm nothing more than a pencil pusher. While my friend Jennova, as Jazza, was out saving the world and the city, I was sitting on my ass doing nothing but paperwork. Oh how I loathe paperwork! Then, I saw something that changed my life...
One night, I was walking down the street, heading home from my crap job. I heard a scream down an ally and before I could see what happened, a guy in a bandit hat run out of the ally, a purse and wallet in hand. I quickly dropped my jacket and went to see what happened in the ally. I saw a couple, two otters, lying in a pool of their own blood. They'd both been stabbed to death from the marks on the boy. The worst part: They were only teenagers.
I got mad. Real mad. I bolted off to the guy who did this. He was fast, but I was faster. I caught up to him and tackled him. He dropped the purse, wallet and his blood-stained knife. I grabbed him by the throat with one hand, liften him up and slammed him in building wall next to me. I could feel his breath growing slowly as I choked him. I could have taken his pathetic life for what he did to those kids. But I thought of Jennatha and I let the guy go. He just slumped to the ground. Luckily he reached the point of unconciousness when I dropped him. Lucky him. I heard sirens and I dragged the man, purse, wallet and knife back to the scene of the crime, I grabbed my jacket, then I ran back home.
---
A couple of days afterward, I got the paper and read the kid's obituaries. One eightenn year old, the boy and a seventeen year old girl. Damn. The guy got sentenced to prison. I didn't bother to read how long he got. It was laready hard enough to read that paper. I called in and said I wasn't going to be in today, I was "sick". That was the first time I faked sick on my job. Surprising seeing how much I hate my job. That's when Jennatha called me.
Jennatha: "Hi my Foxy Woxy."
Trent Fox: "Hi beautiful."
Jennatha: "How ya doing this morning?"
Trent Fox: "Ha! Ask my boss, he thinks I'm sick."
Jennatha: "Are you?"
Trent Fox: "No."
Jennatha: "Trent! That's not right."
Trent Fox: "I know hun. I'm just feeling...A little down."
Jennatha: "Down? What's wrong my love?"
Trent Fox: "Well...Did you read about those kids..."
Jennatha: "Yes I did...If only someone was there to help them in time...*sniffs* At least the fur was unconcious when they found him."
Trent Fox: "I..I was there."
Jennatha: "Huh?"
Trent Fox: "I was there when he started running after killing those kids. I chased after him and I was the one who brought him back."
Jennatha: "Trent...."
Trent Fox: "I know. I should have left it to Jazza. But...I couldn't help it. I couldn't just walk away when I knew where he was running."
Jennatha: "Well...You did a good thing Trent. You caught the fur and brought him to justice."
Trent Fox: "I just wish I could have got there in time..."
Jennatha: "Ohhh my love...There was nothing you could do. Or maybe anyone could do. You did what you could."
Trent Fox: "Maybe..."
Jennatha: "You want me to come over love?"
Trent Fox: "Sure. I could really use the company."
Jennatha: "I'll be over soon. *smiles*I love you."
Trent Fox, smiling: "Love you more."
Jennatha gives a sly smile: "Well, we'll just have to prove that when I get there."
Trent Fox: "Oh baby."
---
After spending a couple of hours with Jennatha. I'm not gonna go into details. Hehe. I decided to visit a friend of mine. It was interesting, he's my age, a weasel and probably the smartest fur I've known yet. I saw this because he makes inventions that no one has had time to make yet. Oh, and he also can hack into numerous computer systems. I swear, he's gonna get caught one day. His name is Runt.
The thing is, I had an idea in mind. An idead that would help Liberty City. But, I wanted to run it through Runt first. I was afraid to tell Jennatha and if I told Jennova he would have said no. So, Runt was my only choice. He's a small guy, with glasses and a stick figure. Besides work, does he ever get out? I may never know. I entered his "Office" (Which is his room by the way.) He turned away from his various computers to see me.
Runt: "Trent Fox. Glad to see you as usual."
Trent Fox: "Hello Runt."
Runt: "Make this quick, I'm in the middle of something very important."
Trent Fox: "I'm sure in your head downloading pics of Minerva Mink is important business."
Runt: "What do you want?"
Trent Fox: "I need your help."
Runt, smiling: "You came to the right man. What do ya need. Numbers calculated, files to be sorted in a curtain order."
Trent Fox: "I need a suit."
Runt, giving a conffused look: "I'm a genius Trent. Not a suit maker."
Trent Fox: "Not a fancy suit like you're going out."
I showed him my blueprints for the suit I wanted and he looked at it with interest. He put it down and smiled at me.
Runt: "Trent, give me a challenge next time. I can get these supplies in hours! Plus I know a man who can get it made like that."
Trent, sarcastic: "I'm impressed."
Runt: "I must ask "hero."
I also told him about what I did. Now he calls me a hero. Fantastic eh? Not really.
Runt: "What are you planning to do with this "suit" of yours."
I looked at him staright in the eye, he cowarded back, but just a little.
Trent Fox: "Help Jazza with Liberty City."
Runt: "HA! Dude, your kidding right? He can do anything and be anywhere."
Trent Fox: "I know. But you're wrong in a way. He can't be everywhere. Proof of that happened a couple of nights ago. I just want to help keep the low-lifes in check while he handles the bigger issues."
Runt: "Noble. Very Noble." He picks up the blueprints again. "In all seriousness, this suit is quite ingenious. You've thought of everything here have you?"
Trent Fox: "I guess so. When can you have it done."
Runt: "Tomorrow at noon. And for you, no charge."
Trent Fox: "Thanks. I owe ya Runt."
Runt: "No, no. You don't owe me anything. You already did that when you covered my ass at work a week ago."
---
The next day, as you may have guessed, I got my suit. IT was made of two layers. The first layer is a type of material like police use for their bullet proof vests. Mine was slightly lighter, but still good enough to protect against bullets and hopefully knife stabs. the outer layers was covered with a leather-type substance. And yes, it was black. My mas was made of the same materials, but it also had white goggles you might see from the Spider-Man ins "Spider-Man: Shattered Demensions" I could breathe easily through the mask and see easily through it cause of the goggles. The mask also had a built in device so Runt can tell me where I need to be. It can also give me a small holographic display on where that place would be. The suit was a one piece itself, covers everything on my body. When I looked in the mirror without my mask, I noticed the suit was a little tight around my muscles.
Trent Fox: "It's a little tight Runt, you can see to much of my muscles."
Runt: "You'll be fine. I told the guy to make it that way so you can show off."
Trent Fox: "I'm not the show off type."
Runt: "It's also for the ladies sake."
Trent Fox: "I have a girlfriend."
Runt: "Yeah, yeah, yeah. Either way it looks good. Now, I made your boots the way you wanted them too."
The boots he's refering too was black leather with rocket boosters in them.
Runt: "Just press the button conceled in your right arm sleeve to activate. Press it again to turn it off. It's up to you to steer yourself. But, I can take control of it manually if you're in trouble."
Trent Fox, putting on the boots: "Thanks again Runt."
I put on the mask, I stood up and looked at Runt.
Trent Fox: "How do I look?"
Runt, smiling: "Awesome. Now all you need is a name."
Trent Fox: "A name?"
Runt: "Of course! You can't leave the media to do that, they'll pick a horrible name for you. Then you'll be stuck with it for life. Or, as long as you do this."
Trent Fox: "You have something in mind?"
Runt: "Well..."
Trent Fox: "Mercenary."
Runt: "Huh?"
Trent Fox, looks at him: "Mercenary."
Runt: "....Sounds good to me!"
Trent Fox: "Good."
I headed toward the window. I didn't see Runt, but I'm pretty sure he was confused when I did.
Runt: "Were are you going?"
Trent Fox: "Time to take it out for a test drive."
Before Runt could say anything, or before I could change my mind, I jumped out the window and activated the boots. Now, I'll admit, they were hard to control. Withing the first five seconds I went right into a telephone pole. I got out before I could break it off. Soon though, I got control of them. 'Course, I had to go through Runt's smart ass remarks first. I just ignored him. Soon I found trouble. In the back of an abandoned building, I found a couple of furs talking quietly. I usually wouldn't mind this, but they were carrying stuff that look a little to suspecious. I barely made any noise, letting my dark surroundings and my black suit camoflouge me. Another man came in, looking nervous. He was a rat, and the other furs were wolves who surrounded him. One wolf, probably the boss, stepped in front of the poor mouse fella.
Don: "You're late Patrick."
So, the mouse's name is Patrick. When he talked he sounded a lot like Woody Allen. Weird stuff.
Patrick: "I'm sorry Don, I throught I was being followed. I mean, you know, if I got caught then everything would be-"
Don: "Shut up! Did you bring the stuff."
Patrick held out a suitcase. Inside of it was wepons. All of them I've never seen before. These wepons were new. Never made until now. And they were illegal going into the hands of a criminal mastermind. Don. I knew I heard that name from somewhere. He causes a lot of trouble in Liberty City. A crime lord that deserves to rot in prison. Woah, I'm getting to dark. Needless to say, he's bad. And I need to take him out.
Don: "You did good rat."
Patrick: "I-I told you, I'm a mouse-"
Don: "Like I care! (He takes the briefcase) Finish him boys."
Patrick: "F-F-Finish me?!"
Don, smiles evily: "But of course. We can't have any witnesses that aren't part of my gang. Sorry rat."
That's when I jumped in. I jumped right on top of one of the wolves and started cleaning house. The first wolf to come at me was big, but clumsy. I punched him in the gut and through him in a empty crate. I superkicked another one and hit multiple punches in the stomach to another. I threw one into the biggest of the wolves and now I only had one more to deal with: Don. He tried to run, but I tackles his legs. He fell and dropped the briefcase while trying to pull out a knife. He didn't get the chance. I grabbed his arm and dislocated it while I put him in an armbar. Then I got off of him and used my friend Beast's pantened move: The Ankle Lock. I snapped Don's ankle in two and he howled in pain. I looked at Patrick who was cowering in a corner. I went up to him and looked down at him while he was whimpering. Poor guy.
Trent Fox, with a lowered voice: "You."
Patrick: "M-M-M-Me?"
Trent Fox: "Yeah. Stay here and wait for the cops, Krypto or Jennova. Tell them about the business you and Don were having. Mention me or tell them they all tripped I don't care. Just make sure the get Don in jail."
Patrick: "Y-Y-Yes sir. B-B-B-ut who are y-you?"
I didn't answer right away. I just went to the door, opened it and looked back at him. Gotta love that dramatic effect.
Trent Fox: "Mercenary."
I then flew off seeing what else that needed to be done.
