I promised I would make a steam freight, and I delivered on that promise.
I'm more impressed with the background than I am with the actual train. Anyway, I really love how this piece turned out and think it's a great start to drawing more winter scenes.

Nothing specific. Granted, I wanted to use a large 2-8-0 for this scene and even have a tail end of the train wrap around a tree. However, duet to time issues from work, I scaled back to drawing this scene with a Turn of a Century 4-4-0 and some boxcars.
I mainly used pics of standard gauge TOC 4-4-0s for this scene. I already had a 4-4-0 drawing done and just made some changes to make it different.
However, after visiting the Redwood Valley Railroad and seeing their engine No. 5, I can see why you assume it's narrow gauge; about the same shape.
