Furaffinity somehow, someway managed to break all animations that got uploaded after the site update. Before update? Good. After? Broke. Incredible. It's more impressive when you consider that the images still animate in the upload thumbnail.
So I'm uploading this gif I made for a school project, basically as an indicator of when, if ever, that hilariously egregious oversight gets resolved. I figure it's more reliable than waiting on communication from staff.

I wondered if that would in fact be the case but other than checking the forums for updates I'm not sure what else I can do. It's honestly absurd that something as crucial as breaking animations - consistently some of the most popular media there is in the fandom - has been allowed to continue for this long.
Custom thumbnails for images? I was around for the end of their run, on my other account. I didn't realize they were broken though, I thought it was just a baffling executive decision.
But, a distinction without a difference, some would argue.
Here's hoping they believe animations to be more crucial than scat warnings.

They broke when they switched to the larger thumbnails and only the 100px sized thumbs show the custom thumbnails. Up until this update now they used to semi-work in few places that still showed the 100px thumbs (like the next/last couple submissions under the main image), but now even those last few vestiges don't use the 100px thumbs any more, so they are now finally fully broken. You can still make them, but nowhere are they visible any more.
