i'm a notorious fanfic-er myself.... i do the same thing with stuff like that. self insertion does require work though, bc you have to remodel how you'd be in the story to fit the flow of time...

Yeah. With the original Tron self insertion was easy. I am user! Program looks like me in a gray jump suit with glowing stylized circuitry all over. Woo! Tron: Legacy is harder since the whole system is a well guarded secret that no one has access to.

Search for program Rez. Re-assignment of program Rez to sex-ed department. Readying test subjects. Program Rez. Please report to facility 303 for immidete induction to active duty. (X3 I couldn't resist! I still have to see Tron, but your art is awesome! And I'll poke anyone who says self-insertion isn't fun X3)

You should take a look at the storyline at least, it'd help. ^^;

I've been trying, but outside of knowing you fight the digital grim reaper and that you uncover Clu's plot to take over the system I can't find anything that tells me what the story actually is and after watching the reviews of the game play I'm less than interested in actually playing through the game.

Ok, I found walkthrough videos on Youtube that take you through the whole game. Yes, the game does indeed tell the story of the genocide of the ISO's but the story itself is rather lack luster. I mean the coolest character in there is Gibson and barely has any actual screen time. (Also, an awesome reference to "Hackers", so I approve) Still the game itself manages to stay mostly clear of dealing with Clu directly so I could still do a story about a resistance group fighting against the destruction of the ISO's and have it mesh with the story of the game. I'd just be focusing more on guerrilla warfare against Clu's forces and a bad-ass fight against the newly "created" Rinzler. ^_^

I'd say save your money on the Tron game and give it a pass, at least for now. Wait until it's cheaper at least. This coming from a dude who worked on the game. x3

Awesome look, don't care if self-insertion is supposed to be bad or not, this is HOT and Sexy.

There's going to be a cartoon series that covers the fight against Clu, but that doesn't mean people can't do their own stories. Hell, people "re-imagine" Star Wars, Star Trek and a host of other classics anyway, so there's nothing wrong with it.

That's strange... they also had a video game that covered that stuff... Unless Evolution is totally not part of cannon now.

It's called "Tron: Uprising." From what I've read, it's supposed to allow for some of the bit characters in the movie (the guy with the scarred face in the club, for instance) to get their story fleshed out. I don't know if that means it invalidates the game, or if it just covers stories the game doesn't.

I thought the movie sucked, but it was a nice thing to see a modernized version of the classic TRON suits.

I'm also leaning in the direction of "sucked" as far as plot goes, but as far as special effects and the over all look goes... eyegasm seems appropriate. Besides, any excuse I have to draw guys in cool looking tight leather suits is a cause for celebration. ^_^

Oh, visuals and music were both great, but as far as I'm concerned, it's all the movie had to offer. That, and the chances for talented artists to draw guys in tight neon leather suits of course. :D
