Is that a real sword? :O

In my experience 80% of Katanas are just a sharp iron bar screwed onto a handle that would snap and/or dent if you tried to use it. Still I prefer European swords from between 1000bc and 1000ad so doesn't affect me xD

I got it at the mall and it is NOT sharp at all so im guessing its fake. It is metal and the handle is fail i have allready had to glue peces back on it

Well to be honest sharpness doesn't matter. Where I live it's highly illegal to have a sharp sword (which I still can't take outside without a license xD) Still most sword companies pay extra to have the sword sharpened anyway. It's assumed when you buy a sword it's for acting or role play so even in countries where sharpened swords are legal people will sell "stage blunted" as default unless stated otherwise.

A real sword would be made of high carbon steel (which rusts unless you keep it clean and oiled) and would be properly 'tanged' into the handle rather than screwed in. Some swords might have a full tang and a screw, but they should be built in a way that they don't loosen up from normal use.
