Jean-Luc Picard was sunning himself when I went in to feed him. Decided to practice a little with my camera while he sunned.
He eventually got bored with me and went to eat so I took that as my cue to GTFO his space.
Again, took a bunch of pictures with different settings trying to see what I can do and what I can't in different setting.
He has such a cute face doesn't he?

Jean-Luc is a Russian Tortoise and was an abandoned by my younger sister's ex-boyfriend when they broke up. He was a reptile collector but a complete moron leaving all his neglected animals in my parents basement without food, water or sun. No one noticed as their basement had only been used for storage for years and no one ever went into the spare room.
My sister found homes for all the survivors except him. I offered to foster him until a home could become available and brought him home with me and quickly fell in love.
I upgraded him to a larger enclosure, got him a good sunning lamp and put him in a warm room where he wouldn't have to freeze in a dark cold basement any longer.
He's come along way from that sluggish, sick tortoise. He's very active now and not nearly as shy as he once was.
He loves exploring outside on warm summer days, hopefully this summer I can do a photoshoot with him at the park or something.
